Are we as believers in Christ looking through the bible to get a picture of this world or are we as believers in Christ looking through the world to to get a picture what’s in the Bible?
Last week - “not of this World” message, Jesus our High Priest - prayer John 17 to the Father, We learned from scripture Jesus has powerful........credentials
Jesus- Credentials as our High Priest
Order of Melchizedek- He was in the beginning & holds priesthood eternally
Source of peace and blessings
Authority over all flesh
Source of eternal salvation
Able to save forever - those who draw near to God through Him
Makes intercession for us
His prayer for us (John 17)
His joy made full in us v13
The world hates us - not of this world and because of His word v14
We are not taken out of this world v15
Keep us from the evil one v15
We be sanctified in truth v19
The Lord had also shown us....
The church be continually sanctified
Church- feed My lambs
Church- tend to My sheep
Church- feed My sheep
growth and becoming more in the image of Christ / we eat sheep food now, not fish food

praying - speaking to God, take care, pay attention and respond
not enter temptation - not stumble, have integrity, do not give satan possession
What does all we just covered build off of? Matt 7:24 ““Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock.” **What causes us to respond to God’s word the way He desires? **This whole foundation of everything we as believers strive to walk out in this fallen world? Its what the Holy Spirit exerts in us as a holy influence on our souls, God’s rule and precepts revealed through us, His righteousness revealed. **Our desire to be a good people is built from.........

Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne;
Lovingkindness and truth go before You.
Righteousness- “what is right” Justice- “God has the final say” Throne- official seat, seat of honor, official court! Lovingkindness- His loyalty, devotion to His covenant Truth- He is reliable and trustworthy, true
I love in the Michael W Smith song “Let it Rain” this song about wanting to see or feel God’s glory, “open the floodgates of heaven Lord”, it builds to a point in the song, and the voice changes, like Australian or British accent you know. And the music pulls back a bit and this voice quotes from Psalm 97, it goes something like this.............
The Lord reigns, let the earth be glad
Let the distance shores rejoice
Clouds and thick darkness surround him
Righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne
A fire goes before him and consumes his foes on every side
His lightning lights up the world
The earth sees and trembles
The mountains melt like wax before the Lord
Before the Lord of all the earth
The Heavens proclaim His righteousness
And all peoples will see His Glory (Psalm 97)
Let’s look deeper in God’s word, again I love the mechanics or process in how God’s Word and Spirit works.

The law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul;
The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.
This is how a Hebrew would mean it to say, defining law/perfect/restoring/soul. The rule of the Lord is without blemish or defect, bringing back the heart, the inner self, the essence of life, thinking, feeling and willing from a point previously departed.

This is not even all of verse 7 that we have gained such an amazing revelation out of!

The rule of the Lord is without blemish or defect, bringing back the heart, the inner self, the essence of life, thinking, feeling and willing from a point previously departed.
This was still the foundation behind or under what Jesus came into that synagogue proclaiming, His message underlying what He went town to town village to village proclaiming
Psalm 19: 7-8
The law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul;
The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.
The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart;
The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.
So now we have momentum building here, everything about the Lord’s commands for good and righteous living and guidance (the inner man) (remember John 17 the world hates us because of these words and our example of life built from them)
Psalm 19: 9-10
The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever;
The judgments of the Lord are true; they are righteous altogether.
They are more desirable than gold, yes, than much fine gold;
Sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb.
Psalm 19: 11
Moreover, by them Your servant is warned;
In keeping them there is great reward.
These are not commands precepts backed up by any earthly authority, these are backed up by the power from heaven, this power in words and righteous guidance is backing us up from heaven above!
Our Father prayer Jesus gave as a model......................

Forever, O Lord,
Your word is settled in heaven.
Psalm 119: 128
Therefore I esteem right all Your precepts concerning everything,
I hate every false way.
I want to stand with all truth God has and bring light into this world, not get slowly deceived by the darkness of the world’s philosophies, theories and lies
