Introduction

Talk about being persecuted and abused and treated harshly
Talk about the life of Jesus and how he suffered not just on the cross; but throughout his 3 year ministry

Body

Talk about how the “earthen vessels” were a depiction of commonware; both fragile and cheap.
Talk about how the common vessels were a place to store things both of high value and of common use.
Talk about the difference of the commonware clay pots and the elaborate and ornate metal or glass pots.
Discuss the difference in being an “earthen vessel” capable of storing and containing the great power of the Lord; while the elaborate and ornate pots were a decoration and the beauty was what was seen, not that which was unseen.
Discuss the fragility and unworthiness of the pots; yet to the one who made/owned/kept them, they could some of the most valuable items in the house depending on what was in them.

Conclusion

Return to the beginning and talk about the hardships and the trials that we have faced.
Talk about the difference in what Americans think the Christian life is and what it actually is.
Talk about how the power of God and His consistent provision and deliverance has gotten us where we are.
Talk about the blessings and the promises God has made and has kept throughout our lives.
Talk about finishing the race and how important it is to pass the baton.
Finish with challenging everyone to find someone to pour into and to empower for the next years of ministry in this ever changing world.
