Welcome to Worship

Good morning and welcome
P.Mike’s here
Get communion elements prepared to partake later as a part of our service this morning.
Communion is a holy mystery, where God in all of God’s fullness meets us. Where God desires to be close to us.
As we enter into an attitude of worship this morning, I invite you to set aside anything that pulling away your attention as the moment. As you center your hearts and minds on the lord this morning, I would invite you rise to your feet as you are able to join in the opening hymn.

Call To Worship

Leader: I will sing of your steadfast love, O LORD, forever; People: With my mouth I will proclaim your faithfulness to all generations. Leader: I declare that your steadfast love is established forever; People: Your faithfulness is as firm as the heavens. (Psalms 89:1-2)

Pastoral Prayer

Lord God Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Creator God, you call us to love and serve you with body, mind, and spirit through loving your creation and our sisters and brothers.
in your Son, Jesus,
you meet us with a love that will never let us go;
you utter words of mercy and forgiveness
that override the hurts,
and heal our brokenness;
you offer new beginnings
where we had expected only dead ends.
We ask for the assurance of your Spirit
to know your presence with us in our daily lives:
in our relationships;
in our work and service;
in our worship;
in our times of joy and pain.
Lord in your mercy; Hear our Prayer
We pray for those infected with Covid-19, and many other illnesses as well. Have mercy on countries devastated by this disease, would those that provide care to patients know of your ever near pressence. For the sick and infected. God, heal and help. Sustain bodies and spirits. Contain the spread of infection. Give success to agencies working to help, and move us to do all the good that we can.
Lord in your mercy; Hear our Prayer
We pray for a world where spiritual longing is satisfied. Help us to accept the freedom that you give us to draw near to you, and to draw near to each other. In the midst of isolation, and fear we know that you offer community and connection both with you and with each other. God we pray for those that are feeling alone this morning, for those are feeling distant from you this morning, we pray that they catch a glimmer of the love that you have for them and for all of us.
Lord in your mercy; Hear our Prayer
As we struggle with the political wrangling of this world, the wars of justice and greed, the violence committed daily against the innocent, The pain of broken relationships and loss, you remain steadfast in your care and devotion for your entire creation throughout the universe. And even in our doubts and disbelief, our struggle to understand and our flat-out ignorance about your ways, you remain constantly present to us.
Lord in your mercy; Hear our Prayer
Lord God inspire the work of this church with your enabling grace. Keep us close to the heartbeat of Christ. Let us be joyful in worship, warm in fellowship, inclusive in outreach, open in decision making, humble and sensitive in evangelism, and gracious in our ecumenical endeavours.’
Lord in your mercy; Hear our Prayer
We pray for those who have recently lost those whom they have loved.
In the shock, confusion, pain and sorrow especially of unexpected loss,
we pray for hearts to be open to the comfort of your Spirit,
shown through friendship and community and as deep calls to deep.
Lord in your mercy; Hear our Prayer
God we invite you not just into our minds, but into our hearts. Visit each of us with your grace, loving Jesus. Dismantle our fears, build up our faith, deepen our love, clarify our goals, sharpen our insight, widen our compassion, and open our minds to the new words you wish to speak to our situation. As each of our heart cry out to you, we raise in this moment of silence all of those things to your care.
Lord in your mercy; Hear our Prayer
We pray now either from memory or from reading off the screens the prayer that you have taught us saying...
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever and ever.
Amen.

THE GREAT THANKSGIVING - Pastor Lewis

The Lord be with you.
And also with you.
Lift up your hearts.
We lift them up to the Lord.
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
It is right to give our thanks and praise.

Great Thanksgiving Continued - Pastor Mike

And so, with your people on earth and all the company of heaven we praise your name and join their unending hymn:
Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.
Holy are you, and blessed is your Son Jesus Christ. By the baptism of his suffering, death, and resurrection you gave birth to your Church, delivered us from slavery to sin and death, and made with us a new covenant by water and the Spirit.

Introducing the elements words by Pastor Lewis while Pastor Mike does the actions

On the night in which he gave himself up for us, he took bread, gave thanks to you, broke the bread, gave it to his disciples, and said: "Take, eat; this is my body which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me."
When the supper was over, he took the cup, gave thanks to you, gave it to his disciples, and said: "Drink from this, all of you; this is my blood of the new covenant, poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me."
(Pastor speaks.) And so, in remembrance of these your mighty acts in Jesus Christ, we offer ourselves in praise and thanksgiving as a holy and living sacrifice, in union with Christ's offering for us, as we proclaim the mystery of faith.
Christ has died; Christ is risen; Christ will come again.

Words of Institution - Pastor Mike

Pour out your Holy Spirit on us gathered here, and on these gifts of bread and wine. Make them be for us the body and blood of Christ, that we may be for the world the body of Christ, redeemed by his blood.
Through your Son Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit in your holy Church, all honor and glory is yours, almighty Father, now and forever. Amen.
