The Gentleness of His Presence

The other night, Corey, Kenny & I got together just to talk. There was no particular topic, but somewhere in that conversation, we were in agreement about something that was definitely NOT a new revelation. We agreed that as Christians, we believe, but we don’t. It’s no secret that every authentic Christian believes that what our Lord and Savior says is true, but we don’t seem to be able to keep His truths in the forefront of our thinking. We believe that our God shall supply all our needs, but we don’t. We believe that all things work together for the good, but we don’t. We believe that The Lord is a very present help in the time of trouble, but we don’t. And so it is that we who are truly saved fight an ongoing battle of sometimes believing and sometimes doubting. And if we're honest with ourselves and each other, there’s more times of doubting than there are times of believing. And that’s clearly evident as we continue to look at the different aspects of the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We believe that He’s present, but we don’t.

Matthew 11:30 “For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.””
