Psalm 33: The Steadfast Love of the Lord !

Psalm 33:1-2
Psalm 33:1–2 NIV84
1 Sing joyfully to the Lord, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him. 2 Praise the Lord with the harp; make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre.

1 Sing joyfully to the LORD, you righteous;

it is fitting for the upright to praise him.

2 Praise the LORD with the harp;

make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre.

3 Sing to him a new song;

play skillfully, and shout for joy.

Verses 1-2 set up the Psalm for the REASON we should give praise to our Sovereign God

The reason and motivation of our Worship and Praise is “the steadfast love of the Lord” v.5, 18,22

Psalm 33:5 (NIV84)
5 The Lord loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love.

Point 1 - The Steadfast Love of the Lord is everywhere for us to see. v.5

Point 2 - God has His eyes on us… we hope in His unfailing love. v.18

Psalm 33:18 NIV84
18 But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love,

Point 3 - God’s “unfailing Love” fills us with HOPE. v. 22

Psalm 33:22 NIV84
22 May your unfailing love rest upon us, O Lord, even as we put our hope in you.
Application:
When we worship we need to be free in our hearts to express that love.
We are humbled by His “Steadfast Love”
Because of His demonstrated Love we can have Hope in God.
