We're talking about how to live, like a Christian and the illustration that Paul gives is that of running a race.
So as I thought about running a race, I thought to myself, you know, there are Necessities things you need.
If you're going to run a race, someone tell me something that I might need in order to run a race.
Shoes.
Good, not just one shoe.
Right?
But two shoes.
We need shoes to run a race.
What else might we need?
Water good.
Anything else we might need to run a race.
You need to know where the finish line is good.
I don't have a Finish Line in my bag.
But we have a picture of a race of here.
We might need for me, a sweatband.
This is important for me running race because I can't see where I'm going.
If I don't have one of those.
Shorts shorts might be a good option to have something to go under the shorts.
Maybe some socks that go on your feet before the shoes.
These are like I did a raise several years ago and I bought these really expensive socks that I never wear any more special socks to run a race for me.
I do a heart rate monitor so that I know what's going on with my heart as I'm running a shirt, right?
All the things that we need to run a race.
What this tells us is you don't just Walk out the door and start running.
I mean, you can fridge answers, are you're going to hurt something.
If you do that, there is preparation that takes place in order to run a race.
We need the proper tools.
Now, there's two very important things that I didn't put in the bag and that is myself.
I didn't put myself in the bag, right?
You need to be there to erase.
The other thing is practice.
You can't fit practice into a bag.
Having all the right gear is important.
But if I am not willing to run the race, it does me no good.
Being willing to run the raisin.
Having the right gear is awesome.
But if I don't track this I will not run well.
We need the proper tools.
We need a willing heart.
We need to train.
And last week, we talked about this spiritual training schedule that when you needed, and we need to establish our priorities.
Today, we're going to talk about is the biggest hindrance to running the race.
Well, the biggest hindrance to running the race.
Well, but before we do, I want to clarify something, we're talking about a raise or were talking about it as a, an illustration, a metaphor of the Christian Life.

These are the truth.
We need to live like a Christian and he's using the example of a Race.
So we're running this race were fighting and he's talking about doing what God wants.
And living is, God has called us to live.
I want to remind us again that Paul has been dealing in chapters 8, and chapter 9 with our freedom in Christ.
I need talking about our necessity to sometimes limit that freedom to reach people with the gospel.
Now he's going to give them this bigger picture.
And so I'm going to remind us of our principal or principle.

How do we do that to give consistent effort and discipline?
There are two warnings that we need to give seed to feed these two warnings.

You need to plot your course, so to speak on our lesson was that the Christian Life demands Focus?
We cannot run with purpose if we don't focus on where we're running and how we're running.
Set a goal requires strategy.
