*7175** How Do Wars Begin?
*
A boy once asked, “Dad, how do wars begin?” “Well, take the First World War,” said his father.
“That got started when Germany invaded Belgium.”
Immediately his wife interrupted him.
“Tell the boy the truth.
It began because somebody was murdered.”
The husband drew himself up with an air of superiority and snapped back, “Are you answering the question or am I?”
Turning her back upon him in a huff, the wife walked out of the room and slammed the door as hard as she could.
When the dishes stopped rattling in the cupboard, an uneasy silence followed, broken at length by the son.
“Daddy, you don’t have to tell me how wars begin; I know now!”

\\ *4860** Disorderly Conduct In Church* \\ A congregation of the Church of God in Christ in Wichita, Kansas, has asked a court to stop four of the members from disrupting services.
Bishop Graze Kinard says the four have run through the sanctuary moaning and shouting while he tried to conduct services.
He alleges that they shut the pastor’s Bible while he was preaching, took away the pastor’s microphone and hit him over the head, and pinned down the pianist’s arms.
Police have had to step in several times, and the congregation has dwindled from 600 to fifty because of the trouble, complains the bishop.
The trouble apparently stems from a battle over control of the church, say police.

\\ Dr. John Barnett
God’s goal is not to give human beings what their own impulses demand; his goal is that human beings will learn to love what he loves.
It is not that God does not want people to have pleasure, but that he wants to train them to take pleasure in what he knows is truly good.
