They Apostates Are Stains Who Self-Serve

Jude 12 NKJV
These are spots in your love feasts, while they feast with you without fear, serving only themselves. They are clouds without water, carried about by the winds; late autumn trees without fruit, twice dead, pulled up by the roots;
The word spots comes from the Greek word “Spilas”
Spilas is a submerged rock or coral reef right below the water that damage ships and sink them because they are unaware of the reef barely submerged but dangerously full below the water
The love feastsink the love feasts as in they have no conviction or conscience and are only there for the attention and the gluttony!
The love feast was something that the early church did similar to potluck but dissipated I believe out of necessity because of the abuse of apostates.
Lets look 1 Corinthians 11
1 Corinthians 11:17 NKJV
Now in giving these instructions I do not praise you, since you come together not for the better but for the worse.
1 Corinthians 11:18 NKJV
For first of all, when you come together as a church, I hear that there are divisions among you, and in part I believe it.
1 Corinthians 11:19 NKJV
For there must also be factions among you, that those who are approved may be recognized among you.
1 Corinthians 11:20 NKJV
Therefore when you come together in one place, it is not to eat the Lord’s Supper.
1 Corinthians 11:21 NKJV
For in eating, each one takes his own supper ahead of others; and one is hungry and another is drunk.
1 Corinthians 11:22 NKJV
What! Do you not have houses to eat and drink in? Or do you despise the church of God and shame those who have nothing? What shall I say to you? Shall I praise you in this? I do not praise you.
1 Corinthians 11:23 NKJV
For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread;
1 Corinthians 11:24 NKJV
and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”
1 Corinthians 11:25 NKJV
In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”
1 Corinthians 11:26 NKJV
For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes.
1 Corinthians 11:27 NKJV
Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
1 Corinthians 11:28 NKJV
But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup.
1 Corinthians 11:29 NKJV
For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.
1 Corinthians 11:30 NKJV
For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep.
1 Corinthians 11:31 NKJV
For if we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged.
1 Corinthians 11:32 NKJV
But when we are judged, we are chastened by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.
1 Corinthians 11:33 NKJV
Therefore, my brethren, when you come together to eat, wait for one another.
1 Corinthians 11:34 NKJV
But if anyone is hungry, let him eat at home, lest you come together for judgment. And the rest I will set in order when I come.

The Apostates Are Waterless Clouds

Jude 12 NKJV
These are spots in your love feasts, while they feast with you without fear, serving only themselves. They are clouds without water, carried about by the winds; late autumn trees without fruit, twice dead, pulled up by the roots;
Clouds bring the promise of rain to a thirsty land and Israel is one of those lands dependent upon rain and gets very little of it like Southern California.
They are without water like Jesus said.
Matthew 12:43 NKJV
“When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none.
Proverbs 25:14 NKJV
Whoever falsely boasts of giving Is like clouds and wind without rain.
So many people follow these type of people!
These people only want speak of blessings, promises, goodness, peace, and love through false teaching.

Apostates Are Fruitless

Jude 12 NKJV
These are spots in your love feasts, while they feast with you without fear, serving only themselves. They are clouds without water, carried about by the winds; late autumn trees without fruit, twice dead, pulled up by the roots;
Nothing worse than being fruitless
A fruitless tree provides nothing.
They fruitless because they are dead at the root.
They can’t give you anything!
Matthew 15:13 NKJV
But He answered and said, “Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted.
How can a fruit tree bear no fruit in the fall which is supposed to harvest time?
Galatians 5:19 NKJV
Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness,
Galatians 5:20 NKJV
idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies,
Galatians 5:21 NKJV
envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Fruitful trees bear fruit
Galatians 5:22 NKJV
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
Galatians 5:23 NKJV
gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
Galatians 5:24 NKJV
And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

Apostates Are Waves

Jude 13 NKJV
raging waves of the sea, foaming up their own shame; wandering stars for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever.
They are troubled like the sea
Isaiah 57:20 NKJV
But the wicked are like the troubled sea, When it cannot rest, Whose waters cast up mire and dirt.
Whenever there is a storm in the ocean or the sea it yields of debris on the shores

Apostates Are Stars That Give the Wrong Direction

Jude 13 NKJV
raging waves of the sea, foaming up their own shame; wandering stars for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever.

Apostates Are Destined For Destruction

Jude 14 NKJV
Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men also, saying, “Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints,
Jude 15 NKJV
to execute judgment on all, to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.”
