Ephesians 6:10–16 NKJV
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.

Focus Verse:

Ephesians 6:16 NKJV
16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.

From last week:

faith is trusting in the will of God for my life.

Faith is trusting in the word of God.

This week:

1. Each one is given a measure of Faith.

Romans 12:3 NKJV
3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.
God dealt to each one a measure of faith.
That measure of faith is how you came to faith in Jesus!
Ephesians 2:8 NKJV
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
scripture tells us that it doesn't take a whole lot of faith.
we often feel as we need to have some great “hero of the faith” Abraham had.
the Lord Jesus seems to want us to understand that a little faith goes a long way.
why don’t we walk in great faith?
because we are afraid of failure!
what if its not about the outcome but rather about the Journey.

2. How does faith come?

Romans 10:14–17 NKJV
14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!” 16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our report?” 17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
this is why it is important for the preacher to preach!
Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

3. Faith is a Verb: when we have faith an action will fallow.

James 2:18 NKJV
18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.
Ephesians 2:10 NKJV
10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
it will take faith to walk in the works that he created us to walk in.
The Lord will call us out to lean on Him
1 Samuel 17 David and Goliath.
Daniel 3 Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego
Matthew 14:22-33 Peter walks on the water.
