INTRODUCTION: last harry potter movie. We get to see into Paul’s heart in this verses.

Paul wanted to be a bold witness. - (Ephesians 6:18-20)

Ephesians 6:18 ESV
18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,
to that end - prayer
keep alert with all perseverance - stay alert for a long time. lit stay up all night.

making supplication - Army illustration. how do we do that? Through praying to God asking for him. In battle, it is frequent that army sends back to headquarters to ask for the tools to fight the battle.
Ephesians 6:19 ESV
19 and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel,
and also for me - He finally gets around to request something for himself. He spent 6 chapters talking about them. Now finally, what do think he will ask about? More money? Help to escape from prison?
that words - logos - often divine words.
May be given to me - not my words.
in opening my mouth - you have to say something.
bodily to proclaim - boldly - loudly in public (letter?)
proclaim - to reveal a special word of God.
mystery of the gospel - sacred secret, good news.
Ephesians 6:20 ESV
20 for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.
for which I am an ambassador - someone sent from heaven now living in another land.

If you could have one prayer answered, would it be to have a bold witness?

Paul wanted to encourage others. - (Ephesians 6:21-24)

Tychicus - mentioned a few times. Col. 2 Timothy 4
He said this so they would accept him and provide for him.
Apparently stayed there for long term.
Encourage your hearts.

In the hardest days, are you still focused on others?

Ephesians 6:23–24 ESV
23 Peace be to the brothers, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 24 Grace be with all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with love incorruptible.
