Philippians 1:3-11
1. What an Impression
a. The mention of a broken dishwasher
i. We walk in there sat a new dishwasher
2. Leaving a Mark
a. What does that mean?
i. If someone or something leaves their mark or leaves a mark, they have a lasting effect on another person or thing.
ii. This can be good and bad
iii. It can be a one-time encounter
iv. Or as you get to know someone
v. Based on actions and attitude
b. I love this list
(Circle what needs work)
i. Give your undivided attention.
ii. Remember people's names.
iii. Be a problem solver.
iv. Ask "How can I help?" Be the person who is always willing.
v. Set high standards. – Chairs
vi. Make your contribution greater than your reward.
vii. Lead with integrity, no matter how much it costs.
viii. Smile
c. What about a Christian?

The Mark of a Thankful Heart

Philippians 1:3 NLT
3 Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God.
ii. Who do you give thanks for?
iii. Are you a blessing?

The Mark of Prayer

Philippians 1:4 NIV
4 In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy
ii. What can I do for you take prayer seriously?
iii. It’s an untapped power
iv. We are going to have prayer stations in the near future

The Mark of Joy

Philippians 1:4 GW
4 Every time I pray for all of you, I do it with joy.
ii. It’s the theme of this book
iii. We have so much to be grateful and happy about
Joy is divine – Not earthly
Joy does not depend on circumstances
Joy springs from faith

The Mark of Fellowship or Partnership

Philippians 1:5 NCV
5 I thank God for the help you gave me while I preached the Good News—help you gave from the first day you believed until now.
ii. Did you know the source of fellowship is the gospel (Good news that Jesus has rescued us from our sins).
iii. We are partners with Christ and with each other.
iv. There is much joy in working alongside each for the gospel.

How do you leave your mark?

a. A person with a grateful heart?
i. Do you complain a lot?
b. A person of prayer?
i. Are you a crisis prayer?
ii. Is your prayer life weak or none at all
c. What about joy?
Romans 14:17 NLT
17 For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

iv. If we put our joy in things and circumstances
