The gospel is bitter-sweet. It is sweet as honey in providing forgiveness and reconciliation with God, through faith in Christ Jesus. It is bitter as it affirms the condemnation for sin on all who do not trust in Christ. We should have joy when people trust in Christ as well as sorrow when they don't.
