Indeed God Speaks But Did He Really Say . . .

The spirit that rests on religion facilitates something called Filtering the Text. Filters are used to eliminate things in order to achieve a desired result!
What is the desired result the spirit who rests on religion wants to achieve through Filtering the Text? The desired result is for you to not be able to Hear the Voice of God when you read the Scripture and or for you to believe the Bible says something that it does not say!
Today, we will examine several things people say the Bible says, but they are not in the Bible!
Indeed God Speaks, But Did He Really Say . . .
I. A Whale Swallowed Jonah
Jonah 1:17 And the Lord appointed a Great Fish to swallow Jonah
Jonah 2:10 Then the Lord commanded the Great Fish . . .
Indeed God Speaks, But Did He Really Say . . .
II. Spare The Rod—Spoil The Child
Proverbs 13:24 He who withholds his rod hates his son, but he who loves him disciplines him diligently
Indeed God Speaks, But Did He Really Say . . .
III. Love The Sinner But Hate The Sin
Psalm 97:10 Hate evil, you who love the Lord
Matthew 5:43 You have heard that it was said, “You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy”
Matthew 5:44 But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you
Indeed God Speaks, But Did He Really Say . . .
IV. God Will Not Give You More Than You Can Handle
1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it
1 Temptation is an EXPERIENCE that is COMMON
10:13 No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man
2 The EXTENT of the Temptation is CONTROLLED
10:13 . . . and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able
3 The ESCAPE from the Temptation is CERTAIN
10:13 . . . but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it
The Bible does NOT say that God will not put more on you than you can handle, but the Bible DOES say you will not be TEMPTED beyond what you can endure!
The Bible does say there are many things in life that are more than we could handle without the power of God!
2 Corinthians 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, so that the surpassing greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves!
2 Corinthians 4:8 we are AFFLICTED in every way, but not CRUSHED; PERPLEXED, but not DESPAIRING
2 Corinthians 4:9 PERSECUTED, but not FORSAKEN; STRUCK DOWN , but not DESTROYED
Indeed God Speaks, But Did He Really Say . . .
V. Satan’s kingdom is in Hell and his demons will torment sinners there
Matthew 25:41 Then He will also say to those on His left, “Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels!”
Satan’s kingdom is not in hell and his angels do not torment sinners there. However, Satan and his angels will be thrown into the lake of fire and be tormented there for ever!
Revelation 20:10 And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are also; and THEY will be TORMENTED day and night for ever and ever!

VI. In Order To Be Saved You Must Ask Jesus To Come Into Your Heart and or To Pray The Sinners Prayer
Mark 1:14 Now after John had been taken into custody, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God 15 and saying, repent and believe in the gospel
Giving Your Heart To Christ Is NOT the Gospel! Salvation Comes From Something Christ Give You, Not Something You Give to Christ!
How Does A Person Demonstrate They Have Repented and Believed in the Gospel?
Romans 10:8 But what does it say? The Word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart—that is the Word of Faith which we are preaching
Romans 10:9 That if you CONFESS with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and BELIEVE in your HEART that God raised Him from the dead, you will be Saved!
Romans 10:10 For with the HEART a person BELIEVES, resulting in RIGHTEOUSNESS, and with the MOUTH he CONFESSES, resulting in SALVATION!
