Matthew 12:46-50 46 While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him. 47 Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee. 48 But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren? 49 And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! 50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.
Who Is Jesus to You?
1) I will be your Father---- 1 John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: Father: 1) Has Authority 2) Is understanding 3) Long Suffering 4) Forgives easily 5)l Loves his Children
2) I will be your mother—John 19:26 When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son! Mother: 1) Exemplifies Love 2) Kisses away the Tears 3) Bandages up the wounds 4) Encourages her children 5) Does not set on the set of idleness
3) I will be your Brethren—(Brother or Sister)--Matthew 12:50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother. 1) The older protects the younger 2) Good sister takes care of her brothers clothes 3) Passes on what they have Never Rejects Us
4)I will be your closest Companion—(Husband or Wife)-- Ephesians 5:33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband. 1) Nothing better than a wife and nothing worse than a bad one 2) A closeness that becomes one 3) Take care of each other when they get old and sick Reverence—To Honor
5) I will be your best Friend---Proverbs 18:24 A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. 1) Nothing like a best friend 2) Friend loveth at all times 3) True Friend sticks close 4) True Friend is not fair weather 5) True friend won’t sell you out
