Tension

Hell is real, but I don’t want to admit it.
God wouldn’t judge me.
Why is God so bent on judgment?
Life is ultimately good, but sin ruins it.
Sin is always optional, and people choose it.
God must purge sin.
Taking kids on a road trip to somewhere great. One of them gets mad at you along the way. They don’t get to enjoy the trip, but neither do you. At the end of the trip, you and your grateful children get to enjoy ice cream together.

Truth

The judgment has been coming for a long time.

You are free to eat from any tree in the garden;n 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil,o for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”p

Before the flood of Noah, the law of Moses, the destruction of Israel, or the coming of Christ.
The judgment is powerful
The New International Version (Chapter 14)
10 You, then, why do you judge your brother or sistera? Or why do you treat them with contempt?w For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat.x 11 It is written:“ ‘As surely as I live,’y says the Lord,‘every knee will bow before me;every tongue will acknowledge God.’ ”b z12 So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.
