I Am Crucified

Galatians 5:24

"Have crucified" is first aorist active indicative. The finality of the thing is here implied.

Aorist, here puts it in the past tense, while active points to the one who has done it, and indicative states that the action is true.

So then, they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh.

As Paul said in the second chapter, I am crucified with Christ!

I.                   Christians have become defeated by a satanic mindset that either ignores the flesh, or has been condemned by it.

A.    Antinomianism is still prevalent.

Antinomianism is the doctrine that salvation in Christ frees one from obedience to any law, whether scriptural, civil, or moral.

B.     Legalism a much dreaded foe.

Legalism is a strict adherence to the law or to a particular code, as of religion or moral.

II.                Positional sanctification becomes the highway of our walk in Christ.

A.    In Jesus I am as white as snow.

So because I’m as pure and white as snow, I will be pure and white as snow.

B.     In Jesus I conduct myself in the way that reflects my position.

Seeing I am a member of His body, I shall act like a member of His body.

C.     In Jesus I constantly look for ways and opportunities to improve my standing.

Because I’m a child of God I walk so as to honor Him.

Because Heaven is my home I am preparing myself for that day.
