Without going thru the old, we cant get to the new.

Life is kinda like being at the beach and we are carrying a bucket of sand. amount of sand to be carried. That bucket is a mixture of lifes “stuff”. wet sand, dry. shells and some broken shells. some good, some kinda like meh. There is just sooo much life that goes into our buckets.
James 1:1–4 NIV
1 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, To the twelve tribes scattered among the nations: Greetings. 2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
I like this because this helps us with before, during and after. We all look at lifes challenges and we try to makes sense of the madness. if there is a method, I think I missed that class.
Without the broken shells and the stuff at the bottom, there would be no top
v1 Scattered. We are all over, all shapes all colors.
v2 rejoice when we are going thru stuff because

God wants us to go THRU the old, not dwell in it.
Sometimes we dont even let other people get out of the old
