But we're studying The Book of Revelation, which is regardless of where we are in it.
The bible promises you a blessing for studying it.
So if you feel like well, I'm really not sure what's going on.
I will try to make that somewhat clear but I make no promises.
Okay, so you may leave here just as confused as when you got here, but we will try.
I'll try and bring you up to speed as much as I can, but I highly recommend going out to our YouTube channel and watching the services on there or you can go to our website and you if you just want to download the audio and listen to it or listen to it online.
You can do that for my webpage keep Imani.com.
Alright, we're going to pick up in verse 2, chapter 18, if you'd like to to follow along.
It says, enter the angel of the church in thyatira.
Write these things is the Son of God.
It has eyes like a flame of fire and his feet like fine brass.
I know your Works love service face and your patience.
And as for your works, the last or more than the first, nevertheless.
I have a few things against you because you allow that woman, Jezebel who calls herself a prophetess to teach and seduce my servants to commit, sexual immorality and to eat things sacrificed to idols.
And I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality and she did not repent, indeed.
I will cast her into a sickbed and Those who commit adultery with her, in the Great Tribulation, unless they repent of their deeds.
I will kill her children with death and all the churches shall know that I am, he who searches the minds and hearts, and I will get Each one of you according to your works.
Now to you, I say, and to the rest in thyatira.
As many as do not have this Doctrine who have not known, the depths of Satan as they say, I will put on, you know, other burden but hold fast.
What you have till I come and he who overcomes and keeps my works until the end to him.
I will give power over the nation's, he shall rule them with a rod of iron and they shall be dashed to pieces like a Potter's vessel as I have received from my father and I will give him the Morningstar, he who has ear, let him hear what the spirit says to the churches.
Heavenly Father.
We thank you this morning for your word.
Lord, I Thank you for the fact that we can gather together this morning.
Lord.
We do lift up our brothers and sisters at Harvey Harbor, Calvary Chapel.
They're closed, the Sunday due to a lot of sickness in the body.
I pray that you just heal them up, restore them, and that they would be able to meet again soon, and we thank you that you are restoring them.
Lord this morning when I pray that you would help us.
As we tackle this passage Lord that we would engage with our minds and that we will open our hearts to receive your truth or that we would continue to.
Look at your word as what it was meant to be.
Is your your instructions for Life Garden.
Do we just ask that you would speak to us this morning?
And we thank you in Jesus name.
Amen. 2 in the Book of Revelation, it has its own outline.
For those of you just joining us.
This is the, the outline that we are using chapter 1. Verse 19, the Apostle John was given this instruction, write the things which you seen and the things which are and the things which will take plant place after this.
And so we're in the second half of that.
He wrote what he thought.
He saw the resurrected glorified Christ, in the midst of the churches, that was chapter one and it was quite a scene.
If you remember didn't look anything like he looked when he walked on the earth, he looked very different eyes of fire mouth.
It's spoken word, like a sword that came out.
Shiny, like signed bronze or brass.
He definitely looked different powerful.
And now, we're in the second part.
He's writing about the things which are the church, right?
Chapters 2 & 3 are all about the church.
In fact, a Jesus gives specific letters to seven churches.
Number seven is the number of completion in the Bible.
It's the number of perfection.
So it's not necessarily meant to only represent the physical seven churches that it was written to, which they were actual churches, that existed at that time, but it was also meant to represent the church as a whole, because as we see as he describes what's going on any church, we can look throughout church, history, and see that those things have taken place in the church, historically.
And we will get to the things that will come after the church age later on.
In this book, The reason we talk about the church age is because everything in God's plan pertains to Israel, but in Daniel chapter 9, there was a prophecy that said when Messiah would come and be cut off, not for himself.
In other words, he would be put to death, but not on his up because of his own.
But because of ours, basically that stopped this time clock of God's plan for Israel and he had given very detailed about how long it would be in the Messiah would come.
And we looked at that in-depth.
Basically, when Jesus came into rode into Israel into Jerusalem on what we call Palm Sunday.
It was on the exact date that Bible prophesied, that Messiah would come to Israel, but we know that Jesus saw them that day and he wept over is Jerusalem because he said you didn't know the hour of your The patient rights.
So he was put to death, not because of his own sin, but on our behalf and that stop the time clock for God's dealing with Israel.
And what started at that moment was this age of Grace, where Gentiles could become part of God's plan for the church age.
And after Jesus died and Rose from the grave, the church began.
White people coming to Faith by putting their faith and trust in Jesus Christ and what he did and that's the time.
We find ourselves in right now.
Now in the Old Testament, the Old Testament doesn't talk about the church.
It was a mystery from the standpoint of the Old Testament.
This idea that the Messiah would come and die.
It was in there but it was so hidden.
They couldn't see it.
Right.
I mean, it made allusions to it.
Obviously think passages like Isaiah 53 and places in the songs like Psalm 22 where they made the solution to it, but they couldn't get it right from the prophets perspective.
They just saw the Messiah coming in power and that he would come and he would rule the Earth.
That's going to happen one day, but that's all they saw.
They missed all this other stuff in between Calvary and the gospel going forth in the church being born and his coming would be his second coming in coming in power.
So that's all they really They were expecting Messiah to come kick out the the Romans and take power.
Right?
And we could see that from the New Testament.
That was the expectation of the Apostles when they were with Jesus.
They would like to know.
When are you going to do when you get to stablish your kingdom, right?
They didn't understand what was happening.
But now we can see it.
Now.
The Apostle Paul called The Church a mystery.
And so it wasn't seen but now we have it and we're here and we're studying this time of the church.
And we're going to study at 4 from 4 aspects.
And we talked about this before, but I wanted you to keep this at the Forefront of her mind.
We look at it in the store local context, who were these churches throughout the whole book of Revelation, where to look at the history behind what was happening at the time and the people that were the first.
Here's our first readers, or the first receiver of this prophecy.
Second.
We'll talk about how it pertains to us corporately as a church as the church Universal.
As the Church of Jesus Christ, that is in existence on the Earth today.
We will talk about again, how it personally impacts us, because this is remember, this is a revelation of Jesus, right?
It's not the revelation of John, we have that, if it's as the title of this book, but that's not what it's about the word.
The word of this, the title of the book is apocalypso in the, in the Greek, which means the revealing, and it's the revealing of Jesus.
And so as we study this book, every time we open the book, we should be looking.
Where's Jesus?
How is he being revealed to me? Personally, in this, what is my at the application that I can take from this today?
When I read a passage, like we read just now where Jesus identifies himself as the Son of God, right?
The one whose feet are like burnished bronze, we could take him, we can apply that infect, Brian did a great job of that two weeks ago when he when he talked it if I'm not going to go into a lot of detail about this passage.
