What’s In Your House?

Acts 2:46 (NIV)
Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts,
Acts 2:46 (NKJV)
So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart,
Our text in this 2nd Chapter of Acts demonstrates to Us the movement and flow of the early church, as they attempted to grow and maintain the community of believers. And from careful observation of the scriptures they were successful...
Acts 2:47 (NIV)
praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
Acts 2:47 (NKJV)
praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.
Strategies that Get Results
Winston Churchill said “However beautiful the strategy you should occasionally look at results”
Don’t reinvent the wheel—Just realign it…or attach to a new wagon…or apply it to your vision
The willingness and Open-ness of the New Testament believers provoked a divine response: Divine Obedience releases Divine Promises!
Divine Obedience=Divine Promises/Divine Manifestation
The text shows You and I the attitude of the believers and non believers alike:
they were consistent
they were intentional
they were available
they were united
they were involved
they were watching
they were participating
they were aligned
The Believer N The Un-Believer
The movement and flow of the church was dually focused on the establishing, and maintaining the christian community, as well as the attracting, building fellowship, and the saving of souls!
God has people around You that want to be saved! God has people around you that need to be saved! God has people around you that will be saved! God has people around you that are being saved!
I invite YOU to consider those that were being saved (the unbeliever, the sinner, the non christian, the fool, the lost, the backslider, the chosen) were not being saved in the ‘’Temple” as that environment was concerned with the encouraging, strengthening, developing, disciplining of the BELIEVER. However, it was in the daily fellowship, daily sharing, daily faith, daily demonstration of Love---the believer was being saved…drawn to the community…learning about our God...
John 13:35 NIV
By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
All of this happened not in the community of church, but in the community of their homes, allowing and Inviting people into their homes. Each person was willing to allow their house to be a place where relationships could be established, demonstrate true christ centered love, and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
Acts 9:31 NIV
Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace and was strengthened. Living in the fear of the Lord and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers.
Acts 16:5 NIV
So the churches were strengthened in the faith and grew daily in numbers.
Acts 5:14 NIV
Nevertheless, more and more men and women believed in the Lord and were added to their number.
