Equality Act

After thinking of where we would be tonight, I wanted to just share a bit from my bible reading and also some headlines/articles/podcast I have been listening to
I havent devoted much insight to the Equality Act but I hope a little information here will be beneficial
The EA is put in place to allow the full inclusion without any discrimination towards members of the LGBTQ group
I pulled a quote from the Briefing on February 22, and Al Mohler quotes the Washington Post- "The Equality Act would amend existing civil rights laws, such as the Civil Rights Act in 1964, and the fair housing act to explicitly ban LGBTQ discrimination in the workforce, housing, education, credit, jury service, and other areas of American life.”
I want say, I am against hate towards anyone but complete non discrimination based on self professed identity is absolute lunacy
This is creates massive issues for any Christian organization of shapes and sizes
Christian colleges being forced to allow same gender couples in housing for legitimately married men and women
College sports are feeling it as well
Oral Roberts got blasted by USA today when they ran the headline “Oral Roberts isnt the feel good March Madness story we all want.”
Why would they do so? Oral Roberts is a Christian university with a biblical view of manhood/womanhood and marriage.
Why is that a problem? they are competing in the NCAA
Ok, so? The NCAA is been very open with their stance on inclusivity of the LGBTQ group
As I was reading the article- Al continued to quote the USA Today article as it listed Oral Roberts as hateful, bigoted, out of date, homophobic, prejudice on marriage, gender and sexuality
Its the desire of the writer that the NCAA shouldnt have let them in the tournament or the NCAA
Not only this but what really started my search yesterday on this issue was the when I listened to the Briefing yesterday
A Crucial Moment for the Future of Religious Liberty in America: Jack Phillips of Masterpiece Cakeshop Fined Again in Colorado
Is Religious Liberty Just One of Many Government Interests? A Look at the Response to the Fulton v. Philadelphia Decision
Why Did the IRS Deny a Christian Organization Its Tax-Exempt Status? Well, Essentially for Holding to Christian Values
Despite the Unanimous Fulton Decision, KY Governor Andy Beshear Won’t Back Down from His Administration’s Policy Denying Sunrise Children Service Its Right to Operate by Christian Convictions
All of which continue deliberate discrimination against those of Christian beliefs
Jack Phillips- he doesnt even do halloween cakes because it is against his religious beliefs- but was fined $500 for not making a cake for transgender woman in celebration of the transgender revolution and in doing so broke the state non discrimination law in Colorado
He is the same guy who won a partial victory in 2018 Supreme Court case after refusing to make a cake for a same sex wedding.
Its coming, just give it time
The other thing that spurred me onward here was the 3rd part he addressed concerning the declining of tax exempt status
“That's the actual argument made by an official for the Internal Revenue Service in a letter to the organization, turning down what should have been its routine application and confirmation of IRS 501(c)(3), that is tax exempt status. In the actual letter from the IRS, dated May 18, of 2021, a letter from Stephen A. Martin, director of Exempt Organizations, Rulings and Agreements. He said, and I quote, "For example, you educate believers on national issues that are central to their belief in the Bible, as the inerrant word of God, specifically"--remember this is a letter from an IRS official to a Christian nonprofit organization--"specifically, you educate Christians on what the Bible says in areas where they can be instrumental, including the areas of sanctity of life, the definition of marriage, Biblical justice, freedom of speech, defense and borders and immigration, US and Israel relations. The Bible teachings are typically affiliated with the Republican Party and candidates. This disqualifies you from exemption under IRC, that's Internal Revenue Code, Section 501(c)(3)."
This is legitimately a letter from the IRS
Christians Engaged has obtained legal guidance from First Liberty Institute.
The point Im trying to make is that the time of religious freedom in America is waining
Churches will have to decide on whether they will bow down or face the consequences
We are in 1 Peter 1 on Tuesday morning and we see the church being displaced because they love Jesus
Christians being pushed and tried
John 16 was my bible reading yesterday
John 16:1–4 ESV
“I have said all these things to you to keep you from falling away. They will put you out of the synagogues. Indeed, the hour is coming when whoever kills you will think he is offering service to God. And they will do these things because they have not known the Father, nor me. But I have said these things to you, that when their hour comes you may remember that I told them to you. “I did not say these things to you from the beginning, because I was with you.
Jesus final last words before the Cross is no only is the world going to be against you but so will the RL
Look at Vs 2- “when whoever kills you”--- not a misprint
Can you imagine their minds at that moment?
Not if, but “when”
Jesus tells them this now, so when it happens- they will remember Jesus told it was going to occur
Meaning it would concrete their faith in Jesus
So my mind has been wrapped up on these four words- “You have been warned”
Jesus hasnt left us uneducated either
John 15:18–21 ESV
“If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours. But all these things they will do to you on account of my name, because they do not know him who sent me.
At the same time yesterday I received an email from VOM concerning praying for the persecuted believers around the world
listen to this video of Rocio
So to us all tonight we have been warned
But I also want to encourage us as we leave
1 John 4:4 ESV
Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
2 Corinthians 4:16–18 ESV
So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
