Which road are you traveling?
Psalm 1:1-6.
The low-country sure has changed in the last 20 years.
Tall buildings, beautiful bridges fill the horizon with magnificent architecture.
Our roads or infrastructure has changed as well.
We have multiple roads leading in every direction.
Sometimes it is so easy to get lost if you don’t have modern technology guiding you.
We have to drive offensively and defensively now.
Charles H. Spugeon once said, “Walk with God, and you cannot mistake the road; you will have infallible wisdom to direct you, permanent love to comfort you, and eternal power to defend you.”
We are afforded many choices in this life and the road we choose to travel will always determine our destination.
It is better to be laughed at all the way to heaven than to be praised all the way to hell.
In these 6 verses we find contrasting sources of values.

The way of the godly.
Verse one tells us that the man~/person who /does not:/ follow the advice of the wicked, stand around with sinners, or joins in with the scoffers, is blessed.
This person will enjoy the blessed life promised by God.
We are bombarded with secular humanism.
These views place man as the center of the universe and tempt us to live by our own standards of morality.
This blessed man~/person does not give in to the draw of the crowd to join in their unholy activities.
1 Corinthians 15:33 says, “Do not be deceived: Bad company ruins good morals.”
When Eve associated with the serpent her life was ruined.
Many people refuse to live by the New Covenant and they are in shambles, but the blessed man~/person delights in the law or the word of God because they are constantly placing it in their lives.
Billy Graham is known for having open Bibles in every room of his house so that he might take in the precious food from the word of God.
The blessed man desires to please the Lord by knowing and following God’s word.
James 1:22 says, “Be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourself.”
How many people have told you that they know what the bible says but refuse to obey it?
They are deceived.
The blessed man is referred to like a tree planted by rivers of water and it thrives, bears fruit, and prospers regardless of the climate.

The way of the ungodly.
Chaff is the light outside husk and straw that is removed during the threshing.
When a farmer throws the threshed wheat into the air, the chaff is /blown/ away.
The ungodly will be /blown/ away by the intense heat of hell.
They will be /blown/ away by the depressing pain of being separated from God.
They will be /blown/ away by enduring the duration of eternity.
Verse 6 in the Jewish Study Bible says, “For the Lord cherishes the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked is doomed.”
The ungodly are lost because they refuse to submit to Christ and His word.
Proverbs 4:18, 19 says, “But the path of the just is like the shinning sun, that shines brighter unto the perfect day.
The way of the wicked is like darkness; they do not know what makes them stumble.”
Traveling down Godly lane includes living a separated life [not isolated], spending time with God and it ends in the splendor of heaven.
Traveling down ungodly boulevard has no regard for no one except self and ends up at the gated community of hell.
Which road are you traveling?
If you are too busy to follow the Lord, then you are headed in the wrong direction.
