- Hebrews 11:1 – Faith is assurance of things hoped for. How to get?
- First, what faith isn’t.
- Faith can’t be cranked out or self-generated. Why? Because that makes the object of faith your faith in stead of God.
- This is the problem with faith healing – the person’s goal becomes having faith, instead of trusting God.
- So What is faith? The natural respinse to the faithfulness of God, when that faithfulness is perceived. How to perceive it?
- The faithfulness of God is recorded all the way through Scripture. Gen. – Rev. “Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17
- The faithfulness of God is seen when we count on Hid promises for us. 1 John 1:9 “God is faithful.”
- The faithfulness of God is seen as He keeps us in blameless fellowship with Him. 1 Corinthians 1:8,9.
- The faithfulness of God is seen when He delivers us from temptation. 1 Corinthians 10:13
- There are many more.
- Answered prayer is possible when it is built on the faithfulness of God. 1 John 5:14. Will of God can’t be understood apart from the faithfulness of God.
