Better Days are Coming

Church its Going to get better. Better Days are coming. If you are in a dire place and you can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel, its going to get better. If you are in a great place and you couldn’t even begin to thing of thing being any better than they are, Better days are coming. The hope of our ancestors was “better days were coming”. (preach on this historical hope)

1. Attend to the Unattended (v.1-4)

There are no better days without fixing the problem that causes the desolation. Fixing a problem means addressing the cause of the problem and pulling it from the root. For Israel in Jeremiah’s context the cause of their oppression is not the enemy, the cause is lackluster leadership. Israel has turned from God to server other gods that really are not God at all and they have done so because the religious leaders have introduced them to the gods of their oppressors. Also, the political leaders.
He says, “they have not been attended too” So God has a place in his heart for those who have been left out, placed on the margins, ostracized.
“Then I Myself...” whenever God decides to impart grace he always does it personally.

2. Administer Justice through Jesus (v.5-6)

Whenever someone is removed from office the new administration brings a new cabinet. God told the old establishment your days are up and I’m putting my own ruler in place. Jesus. God ushered in the betters days when he sent his son Jesus. But, the days are still going to get better. The Branch is the legitimate heir to the throne of David. And understand Church that Jeremiah has already denounced the sitting King. God told Jeremiah to call the current dynasty “childless” even though he had descendants because God said none of his descendants would rule on Davids throne. So, then we have a problem. (Jesus is the legal heir through Joseph)
reign as king and act wisely

3. Amend Your Testimony (7-8)

The good news is that God in all this is that God is not finished with you yet. God is still working on you. He is still working with you. And because God isn’t finished with you your testimony is not complete.
