Jesus talks about “abundant life”... and that’s what we all want, but how does it feel to live a life where you feel there is no purpose, no accomplishment and no joy, at all??
A life where every single dream, project and attempt are crushed every time...
Hannah is considered a heroine in the Bible, but before she reached that point, she had to overcome many difficulties.
Today we will study about her, with the following theme:

Hubo un hombre de Ramataim, sufita de los montes de Efraín, que se llamaba Elcana hijo de Jeroham hijo de Eliú, hijo de Tohu, hijo de Zuf, efrateo. Tenía dos mujeres; el nombre de una era Ana, y el de la otra, Penina. Penina tenía hijos, pero Ana no los tenía. Todos los años, aquel hombre subía de su ciudad para adorar y ofrecer sacrificios a Jehová de los ejércitos en Silo, donde estaban dos hijos de Elí: Ofni y Finees, sacerdotes de Jehová.
Cuando llegaba el día en que Elcana ofrecía sacrificio, daba a Penina, su mujer, la parte que le correspondía, así como a cada uno de sus hijos e hijas. Pero a Ana le daba una parte escogida, porque amaba a Ana, aunque Jehová no le había concedido tener hijos. Y su rival la irritaba, enojándola y entristeciéndola porque Jehová no le había concedido tener hijos.
Así hacía cada año; cuando subía a la casa de Jehová, la irritaba así, por lo cual Ana lloraba y no comía. Y Elcana, su marido, le decía: «Ana, ¿por qué lloras? ¿por qué no comes? ¿y por qué está afligido tu corazón? ¿No te soy yo mejor que diez hijos?».
Después de comer y beber en Silo, Ana se levantó, y mientras el sacerdote Elí estaba sentado en una silla junto a un pilar del templo de Jehová, ella, con amargura de alma, oró a Jehová y lloró desconsoladamente. E hizo voto diciendo: «¡Jehová de los ejércitos!, si te dignas mirar a la aflicción de tu sierva, te acuerdas de mí y no te olvidas de tu sierva, sino que das a tu sierva un hijo varón, yo lo dedicaré a Jehová todos los días de su vida, y no pasará navaja por su cabeza».
Mientras ella oraba largamente delante de Jehová, Elí observaba sus labios. Pero Ana oraba en silencio y solamente se movían sus labios; su voz no se oía, por lo que Elí la tuvo por ebria. Entonces le dijo Elí:
—¿Hasta cuándo estarás ebria? ¡Digiere tu vino!
Pero Ana le respondió:
—No, señor mío; soy una mujer atribulada de espíritu. No he bebido vino ni sidra, sino que he derramado mi alma delante de Jehová. No tengas a tu sierva por una mujer impía, porque solo por la magnitud de mis congojas y de mi aflicción he estado hablando hasta ahora.
—Ve en paz, y el Dios de Israel te otorgue la petición que le has hecho—le dijo Elí.
—Halle tu sierva gracia delante de tus ojos—respondió ella.
Se fue la mujer por su camino, comió, y no estuvo más triste.
Se levantaron de mañana, adoraron delante de Jehová y volvieron de regreso a su casa en Ramá. Elcana se llegó a Ana su mujer, y Jehová se acordó de ella. Aconteció que al cumplirse el tiempo, después de haber concebido Ana, dio a luz un hijo, y le puso por nombre Samuel, «por cuanto—dijo—se lo pedí a Jehová».
SO, WHAT WERE HANNA DIFFICULTIES, AND HOW DID SHE OVERCOME?

Hannah would go every year to “worship” the Lord;
There was much routine, but no changes; there was sacrifice, but no joy, there was ritual, but not fulfillment;

The longer the time passed, more distant became her dreams, because she was getting OLD!!;
Every time our relationship with the Lord becomes a weight, it is time to reevaluate it.

Hannah had to deal with “emotional bullying”;
Hannah not only had to deal with her bully (Peninnah), but she had to live with her!
Not having kids was considered a curse;
Today, there are a lot of concern about “mental health”;

Elkanah wanted her to give up on her dreams, and despite giving Hannah double portion of the sacrifices, that was NOT what she needed nor wanted;
So many times we are requested to negotiate our dreams, and normally those who request that don’t even know how selfish they are, that was probably the case with Elkanah, because it seems he had good intentions, but dreams have no price tag;
THE DEVIL IS ALWAYS TRYING THE SAME...
In resume, Hannah suffered in her spirit, because she wanted an answer from God, she suffered in her soul, because she was constantly bullied by Peninnah, and she suffered in her body, because she was barren.

There is a huge difference between to be before the Lord and completely surrender to Him; this time, things would be different!!!
Even though she was in Shiloh every year, THIS TIME, it wouldn’t be a mere religiosity, Hannah was willing to have a relationship with God, to pour out her soul before Him!;
Not even the High Priest, (the person in charge of the worship) understood Hannah, because that was a different kind of prayer, it was total desperation and yet, total surrender: she needed no words, she needed to pour out her soul unto God:
Pueblos, ¡esperad en él en todo tiempo!
¡Derramad delante de él vuestro corazón!
¡Dios es nuestro refugio!
¡Levántate, da voces en la noche al comenzar las vigilias!
Derrama como agua tu corazón ante la presencia del Señor;
alza a él tus manos implorando la vida de tus niñitos,
que desfallecen de hambre en las entradas de todas las calles.
Hanna’s story was about to change...

Eli reprimanded her for the way she prayed;
Hannah didn’t concentrate on the first part of her encounter with Eli, when he thought she was drunk, she concentrated on the last part, where he blessed her!
It was about time to stop listening to Peninnah and Elkanah and start listening to God;
She came back from the temple with a new attitude! She allowed herself to be happy! That’s called FAITH!
VERY IMPORTANT: Faith IS NOT believing that if we didn’t receive what we asked for, God did not listen, but instead, it is to completely surrender to HIS will, and wait patiently for it;
Hannah’s prayer was very specific, our prayers have to be known:
Por nada estéis angustiados, sino sean conocidas vuestras peticiones delante de Dios en toda oración y ruego, con acción de gracias.

After coming home, Hannah got pregnant!
Hannah dedicated Samuel even before he was conceived!
Samuel was the last judge, and the first prophet in Israel, He anointed the first king Saul and also the infant David. He was one of the most important prophets of the Bible;
Because of that decision of Hannah, God MULTIPLIED her miracle! Not only Samuel was born, but she also gave birth to 3 more sons (besides Samuel) and 2 daughters!
Visitó Jehová a Ana y ella concibió; y dio a luz tres hijos y dos hijas. Y el joven Samuel crecía delante de Jehová.

sabiendo que el bien que cada uno hiciere, ése recibirá del Señor, sea siervo o sea libre.
Respondió Jesús y dijo: De cierto os digo que no hay ninguno que haya dejado casa, o hermanos, o hermanas, o padre, o madre, o mujer, o hijos, o tierras, por causa de mí y del evangelio, que no reciba cien veces más ahora en este tiempo; casas, hermanos, hermanas, madres, hijos, y tierras, con persecuciones; y en el siglo venidero la vida eterna.

Are you ready to throw the towel?? Not yet!!!
You need to stop listening to circumstances and people today, pour out your heart unto the Lord, trust Him and give Him everything, then you will see the miracle happen
Today, you can leave this place of worship with a different attitude, and get impregnated with your Samuel, your promise!
God has given us His best! He’s given us Jesus! Hannah overcame because she was able to offer God what she had of more value, she gave God her dreams, her son, she gave Him everything.
