Four men are in the hospital waiting room because their wives are having babies. A nurses goes up to the first guy and says, “Congratulations, You’re the father of twins.” “that’s odd.” the man answers. “I work for the Minnesota Twins.”
A Nurse says to the second guy, “Congratulations, You’re the Father of triplets.” “That’s weird.” Answers the second man. “I work for 3M.
A nurse tells the third man, “Congratulations, You’re the father of quadruplets!” “That’s strange,” he answers, “ I work for the Four Seasons hotel.’
The Last man is banging his head against the wall. “What’s wrong the others ask?” “I work for 7-UP!”

Each week we have been working on the 2021 Bible Challenge. We memorize a verse of Scripture each week and I preach on that verse, then on Thursday Night we study the verse in Context.
During the month of June our Theme has been “All” each of the verses has the word “all” in it.
First Sunday,
19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Second Sunday,
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
And today, for Father’s Day,
5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; And lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, And he shall direct thy paths.
We find our theme word used twice in this passage. First referring to all thy heart and secondly referring to All thy ways. We will look at each of these today in a message that is geared to father’s but just as meaningful to all of us. Because if we apply the truth’s of this passage to our lives not only will Father’s succeed, but all of us will.
I cannot think of a better person to get advice from that Solomon, the writer of Proverbs and the Wisest man in all the world. You may remember in May as we studied the theme - Prayer we learned this verse from Solomon’s life.
9 Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people?
He asked God for Wisdom and God gave him that and so much more. The book of Proverbs is the fruit of that simple request. Each verse is essentially a sermon of its own. Proverbs 3:5-6 is one of the most quoted passages in all the Bible.
Someone once said that God always gives us more than we ask for. My sermon has four points. These four points explain the two great truths of this passage. Two “A” words highlight each of the two truths this section of Scripture presents. The first a word is our theme word “All.” The second A word enhances this and brings out the flavor of this truth. That A word is “And.” Lets look at them together.

Trust in the Lord and you will be happy
20 He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: And whoso trusteth in the Lord, happy is he.

25 He that is of a proud heart stirreth up strife: But he that putteth his trust in the Lord shall be made fat.

It is foolish to trust in your understanding.
26 He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: But whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.
14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

The key to success as a Father and the key to success for all of us is found in this one word and these two truths.

Have you really trusted God today? If not you should do so now.
In All Thy ways Acknowledge Him.
This is the difference between making Jesus your Savior and making Jesus your Lord.
Lots of people want to stay out of hell, but very few people want to live for God. Today God is challenging you that to be successful takes more than just a casual nod to Jesus. it is more than just mental ascent. It is placing your trust in Him and deciding to acknowledge Him in every area of your life. Will you do this today?
