1. Christians are to love all the saints.
15 Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints,
2. Love is to be rooted and grounded.
14 For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, 17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love,
3. When love is rooted and grounded then you are capable of comprehending the length and depth and height of Christ love.
18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height—
4. The love of Christ passes knowledge.
19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
5. Love bears with one another.
1 I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, 2 with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, 3 endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
6. Speaking the truth in love helps people grow up in Christ.
15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ—
7. When the body grows it causes edification of itself in love.
16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.
8. Husbands are to love their wives as Christ loved the Church.
25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, 26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, 27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. 28 So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself.
9. Grace will be with those who love the Lord.
24 Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.
10. Love should abound more and more in knowledge and all discernment
9 And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, 10 that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, 11 being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.
