Time and Timing

Romans 13:11–12 KJV 1900
11 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. 12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
For some time I have felt some things building, changing in the church.
Over two years I have watched God reshape, rebuild and restructure this church.
I have questioned God at times… (especially in the first year)
I’ve had some hard talks with him.
Some angry
Some pleading
Some I just threw up my hands in frustration
Then Covid hit and things began to shift.
I will never forget that first morning of online service only
Opening my eyes and hearing the voice of God speak:
“Now My Kingdom will be established in our homes!”.
That has been happening over the last year plus.
Watched unity develop.
Personal desire to get to know God better, grow.
Love for each other develop.
Overall, faith begin to grow and expectation begin to rise!
I began a couple months back to feel a shift in my Pastoral ministry.
This has happened several times
Three indicating a shift in physical locations
Many times (as this time) indicating new levels of authority
Transition is a very critical time.
Mistakes can cause wrecks...
Over the past few weeks I told several of you, I can’t make a decision right now because I don’t trust myself.
I had to get away and allow God to give my perspective, insight, confirmation of what I was feeling was right.
A transition should happen naturally - like a automatic transmission.
No one pays attention now a-days to what gear we are in as we drive.
But in the days of manual transmissions, you always new what gear you were in.
What happened when you missed a gear on a manual transmission?
What happened when you didn’t push the clutch in?
“If you can’t find ‘em grind ‘em
They’ll make’m out of rubber next year!”
What happened when you shifted to soon?
What happened when you didn’t shift?
Because we are human, we are the manual part of the transmission!
We are going to miss a gear, grind the gear, we are going to be off in our timing if not sensitive…
We are at to critical a time to miss it!
Romans 13:12–13 KJV 1900
12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. 13 Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.
