Fathers have many responsibilities. One of the most important jobs of a father is to pass on the wisdom of God to their children. Proverbs explains how we as should pass on the wisdom of God by giving advise and Rebuke. These passages apply especially to fathers as they pass on the wisdom of God by advising and rebuking their children.

30 Stripes that wound scour away evil, And strokes reach the innermost parts.
15 Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child; The rod of discipline will remove it far from him.

15 The rod and reproof give wisdom, But a child who gets his own way brings shame to his mother.

Henry Ward Beecher observes:It is not hard to make a child or a tree grow right if you train them when they’re young, but to make them straighten out after you’ve allowed things to go wrong is not an easy matter.
11 All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness.
