WHY BAD THINGS HAPPEN TO GOOD PEOPLE
Song-Something Good is going to Happen to you
Scripture- Ro. 8:28 and also the one that talks about it raining on the just and the unjust.
This I know is not an unusual title.
However it is something that people need to hear ever so often to cause them to chill.
First I believe we serve a good God.
God is great.
God is good", the little prayer goes.
I believe that.
I believe as James says that every good and perfect gift comes down from the Father of lights with whom is no variableness neither shadow of turning.
As Jesus said, if you being evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more does your heavenly Father know how.
Listen friend he has the know how!!!!
God is not mean, a sadist, harsh, evil, neglectful or unable to do anything about our lot.
Never does the Bible say that he does some of the things that I have heard people assign to Him.
The fact remains though that Bad things happen to good people.
Well we say when bad things happen to bad people.
Serves them right.
They had it coming.
They deserve worse etc.
But what about the good.
What about you.
Of course Jesus said there is none good but God.
A. To those good we often give little glib cliches… like it will be all right, it came to pass, it won’t last, there is a silver lining behind every cloud.
But when he is in you, when He is the Most nigh God.
What gives?
Why do bad things happen?*
I believe that there are several reasons why Bad things happen.
Number One
\\ *Some things happen as a natural course of events.
God doesn’t purposely directly intervein in the lives of His kids for every little thing.
WE must summon His intervention, we must ask for it.
If not the natural progress of events may effect us.
What do I mean by that?*
\\ *After Sin, After the fall… the Laws that govern the economy that man lives in were set in motion.
Therefore some things are precipitated by others.
Certain conditions bring rain!
Certain genetic input gives us a propensity toward being susceptible to certain diseases.
These things will eventually intersect the path of our lives baring some intervention by an outside party.*
It is appointed unto man once to die, but after that , the
*Judgement.*
#. *Cars get old and break down.
Machinery as efficient as it is has its flaws and needs to be replaced.

#. *Dominoes fall and….other
Dominoes falls.
Tell about kids setting up dominoes only to inadvertently knock them down.*
#. *Some things we have to admit.
We bring on ourselves.
These things can be knowingly like Bugs Bunny or unwittingly or ignorantly.
Never the less we drink, we get serosis of the liver, we smoke we get lung cancer, we eat too many sweets and our teeth fall out.
We sunburn and get skin problems.
We don’t pay our bills and we might wind up in jail.
We read the paper while we are driving and we have a car wreck.
We touch the hot stove…we get burned.
We don’t discern the body of Christ and many sleep.*
\\ *I believe some things are allowed as a trial.
Not something we have to keep fatalistically, but during the time of adversity we are to hold fast to the profession of our faith without wavering.
Either here or in the air you will be delivered.*
\\ *Finally some things happened that God would get the Glory.
Not for the bad thing, but for deliverance from it.
Look at the man born blind; look at Lazarus being resurrected from the Dead.*
\\ *So don’t assign yourself to guilt.
If you have sinned, repent and receive forgiveness (if he has committed sins they shall be forgiven them.)
But maintain your profession of faith and don’t let go.
If there is a trial endure it.
If there is a lesson to be learned learn it.
But never accuse God of forsaking you…he never will!
If something bad is happening to you…that doesn’t make you bad.*
\\ *Finally Joseph…had some horrible circumstances…but look what happened and look what he said.
You meant it for evil…but God had something in mind.
Your deliverance!!!!!*
