Introduction

Most people probably know y’all, but for those who don’t, tell us a little about yourself. How long have you been following Christ? How long have you been married? And if someone gave you $1 million, what’s the first thing you’d do?

Growing Up

Brad, you grew up in an unchurched home. Tell us a little about your early life and what you remember about the first time you heard the Gospel, heard about Jesus, etc.
Natalie, your experience was very different from Brads. How did your childhood differ from Brad’s when it came to church, Jesus, and the Bible?
What were your teen years like? Looking back, can you see God’s hand at work during that time?

Salvation

Brad, after your teen years, you really rededicated your life to Christ. What did that look like?
And right around that time, you found out that you had some physical problems. Could you describe those and tell us how your faith affected you through that?
Meanwhile, Natalie, what were some of the challenges that you were facing at that time? How did God play a role in the way you faced those challenges?
CHECK TIME

Coming Together

So, how did God bring the two of you together?
How have you seen God work over the past ten years in your relationship?
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned through your years of following Jesus?

Conclusion

I’m reminded of this passage from Lamentations:

22 The LORD’S lovingkindnesses indeed never cease,

For His compassions never fail.

23 They are new every morning;

Great is Your faithfulness.

24 “The LORD is my portion,” says my soul,

“Therefore I have hope in Him.”

25 The LORD is good to those who wait for Him,

To the person who seeks Him.

26 It is good that he waits silently

For the salvation of the LORD.

Brad and Natalie’s story is a reminder to all of us that truly the Lord’s lovingkindnesses never cease. He’s a God who loves us and - even when we find ourselves broken and feeling lost - he offers us a way home.
That’s what the cross is all about. It’s about giving us a second chance. It’s about extending grace to people who have lives that are messed up and confused.
Christ has died, absorbing our sin and shame and guilt, and offering us compassions that are new every morning.
As we close, I want to invite anyone who’s here who may need this offer of hope and restoration - this promise that God can make all things new for you - if you need this, I’d like to invite you to come and pray as we sing.
Let’s allow Brad & Natalie’s testimony to remind us of what God can do in our lives, just as he’s done it in theirs.
