GRADUATION: Not only are graduates thankful to be done with school, some are grateful they’ll never have to take certain teachers again. RateProfessor.com had these three comments posted on their site: “Boring! But I learned there are 137 tiles on the ceiling.” “You can’t cheat in her class, because no one knows the answers.” “If I had one hour left to live, I’d spend it in this class because it feels like eternity.” Congratulations to all graduates, and the teachers who taught them. Reader’s Digest, July 2017, p.55

The world will teach you much about science and philosophy but make you feel foolish if you have FAITH

Hebrews 11:1–6 ESV
1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. 2 For by it the people of old received their commendation. 3 By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible. 4 By faith Abel offered to God a more acceptable sacrifice than Cain, through which he was commended as righteous, God commending him by accepting his gifts. And through his faith, though he died, he still speaks. 5 By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not found, because God had taken him. Now before he was taken he was commended as having pleased God. 6 And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

The world will attempt to teach you much about passion and lust but will bypass your first LOVE and often fail at TRUE LOVE

1 Corinthians 6:9–10 ESV
9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, 10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
1 Thessalonians 4:1–12 ESV
1 Finally, then, brothers, we ask and urge you in the Lord Jesus, that as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God, just as you are doing, that you do so more and more. 2 For you know what instructions we gave you through the Lord Jesus. 3 For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; 4 that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor, 5 not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God; 6 that no one transgress and wrong his brother in this matter, because the Lord is an avenger in all these things, as we told you beforehand and solemnly warned you. 7 For God has not called us for impurity, but in holiness. 8 Therefore whoever disregards this, disregards not man but God, who gives his Holy Spirit to you. 9 Now concerning brotherly love you have no need for anyone to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love one another, 10 for that indeed is what you are doing to all the brothers throughout Macedonia. But we urge you, brothers, to do this more and more, 11 and to aspire to live quietly, and to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we instructed you, 12 so that you may walk properly before outsiders and be dependent on no one.
PROBLEMS: Graduates are entering a world filled with problems that can be paralyzing, but Everything Is Figureoutable. That’s the title of Marie Forleo’s latest book. The best- selling author and entrepreneur tapped the wisdom of her mother who taught her that everything is “figureoutable.” Forleo believes, “You are 100% responsible for your life.” So, when we’re hit with life’s biggest challenges, figure it out. Parade, 9/15/19, p.4

The world will seek to engage you in revolution but mock you when you become a student of DIVINE REVELATION

1 Samuel 15:23 NLT
23 Rebellion is as sinful as witchcraft, and stubbornness as bad as worshiping idols. So because you have rejected the command of the Lord, he has rejected you as king.”
Hebrews 12:14 ESV
14 Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.
2 Timothy 2:15–16 ESV
15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth. 16 But avoid irreverent babble, for it will lead people into more and more ungodliness,
Philippians 4:8 ESV
8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
