But The Greatest of These is Love
1 Corinthians 13:1-13
BUT THE GREATEST OF THESE IS LOVE
1) No matter what talent or gift Love is greater---1 Corinthians 13:1-2 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. 1)Though I speak with the tongues of angels 2)Though I have the gift of prophecy 3)understand mysteries 4)all knowledge 5)have all faith
2)You can’t out give God’s Love--1 Corinthians 13:3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. 1) Self-sacrifice 2) Money I give 3) volunteer work I do 4) pain I may endure 5) Hard ship I go through
3) Love Goes the extra Mile---1 Corinthians 13:4-7 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, 5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; 6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Love: 1)Suffered Long 2)is kind 3)envieth not 4)vaunteth not itself 5)not puffed up 6)does not behave itself unseemly 7)does not seek its own 8)not provoked 9)does not think evil 10)does not rejoice in iniquity 11)rejoices in truth 12)Bears all things 13)believes all things 14)Hopes all things 15)endures all things
4) God Love will never fail you---1 Corinthians 13:8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. 1) Prophecy can fail 2) Tongues may cease to the point of not being able to speak 3) Knowledge could vanish away 4) God’s love agape will never fail
5) Love is the greatest of All---1 Corinthians 13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity. Within the realm of God abides faith, hope and charity.
