Introduction

I believe that everyday God allows us to open our eyes is praiseworthy. Over the last 15 months we have managed grief, fear, disappointment, unemployment, neglect, irresponsibility and trials. All of which can be attributed to the power of God in which He shall be praised.
The psalmist writes in Psalm 18:3-6 I will call upon the Lord, who is WORTHY to be praised, so shall I be saved from my enemies. The pangs of death surrounded me, and the floods of ungodliness made me afraid. The sorrows of Sheol surrounded me; The snares of death confronted me. In my distress I called upon the Lord.
There is no doubt that God is worthy to be praised, but it is up to us to reflect on his goodness, on His mercy, on His love! Without God I have nothing, and the fact that He allowed me to put my feet on the ground one more day I ought to praise Him for that if nothing else! March 22nd, 2020 if you would have told me June 6th would be the first Sunday that my brothers and sisters and I would be able to worship together, I would have said you are telling a story because my Granny said I can’t say the word lie in front of adults.

Why Is Israel Praising God?

There was a threat to the Davidic dynasty, and that threat was now over. Ahaz had survived the attack of Aram and Israel had been conquered by Assyria, nonetheless God makes a promise.

14 Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel. 15 Curds and honey He shall eat, that He may know to refuse the evil and choose the good.

This “Son” our savior whose throne will be established with justice, righteousness and peace.
As we make our way to chapter 11, we see this theme of messianic rule persist.
Power in high places will fall but the Lord will raise up a Messiah and every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess!
Isaiah 11:12-16

12  He will raise a signal for the nations

and will assemble the banished of Israel,

and gather the dispersed of Judah

from the four corners of the earth.

13  The jealousy of Ephraim shall depart,

and those who harass Judah shall be cut off;

Ephraim shall not be jealous of Judah,

and Judah shall not harass Ephraim.

14  But they shall swoop down on the shoulder of the Philistines in the west,

and together they shall plunder the people of the east.

They shall put out their hand against Edom and Moab,

and the Ammonites shall obey them.

15  And the LORD will utterly destroy

the tongue of the Sea of Egypt,

and will wave his hand over the River

with his scorching breath,

and strike it into seven channels,

and he will lead people across in sandals.

16  And there will be a highway from Assyria

for the remnant that remains of his people,

as there was for Israel

when they came up from the land of Egypt.

The Power to Forgive Is Praiseworthy

Chapter 12 begins with a Song of Praise!
I’m beginning this song with praise, even though you were angry with me, your anger turned away and You comforted me.
We have all disobeyed, we have all taken God’s promises for granted, but God insist that we come back home.
Not only does God invite us back home to a place of comfort but He aligns us with a protector in Jesus that is the foundation of our Salvation.

Power

I praise God for HIS POWER!
Verse 1 “O Lord” or Yahweh signifies a relationship. Once we get to Verse 2 in which God or “El” signifies His power and His ability.
I praise God because of my relationship and his willingness to forgive but I also praise YOU because of your ability dear God!
Trust is a word based off of relationship. His power provides salvation but my trust in God comes from the relationship I’ve built with God, that is the reason I praise like I do.
“I will trust and not be afraid; For YAH, the Lord, is my strength and song;
I can trust in God and not be afraid, because he is my strength, He is my song.
He is my song: (A chant or melody expressed through the instrument of the voice, with a focus on the content of the words of the song, also an expression of joy).
The root word of song is to protect!

Pain and Prominence

Being away from home is painful, we are absence from the dependability. Nonetheless God has the ability to ensure comfort even in the most desolate places.

Therefore with joy you will draw water

From the wells of salvation.

7 A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give Me a drink.” 8 For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.

9 Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, “How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.

10 Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.”

11 The woman said to Him, “Sir, You have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. Where then do You get that living water? 12 Are You greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank from it himself, as well as his sons and his livestock?”

13 Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, 14 but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”

This is why proclaiming the power of God is necessary!
Everyone does not know about the power of God! This is why we have to Praise His name, this is why we have to declare His deeds amongst the people, exalt his name!
Why am I praising him? He has done excellent things, the whole world should know!
If God has blessed you, make it known. This is what worship is all about.
Make mention
Sing praises unto God
Cry out and shout!

Praise is a natural and necessary response to fully enjoy the object that is praised. For example, when watching a football game on television, it is a natural response to praise a tremendous play. To shout WOW! after an acrobatic catch in the end zone is not only natural, but necessary to fully enjoy the spectacular play. If you do not believe that it is necessary, the next time you watch a football game try to not express yourself at all. You will quickly find that you do not enjoy the action nearly as much as you do when you have the freedom to express yourself in praise and excitement
