Ephesians 6:13-14KJV

13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

1.    Take UNTO you the whole Armor of God - PUT ON GODS COMPLETE ARMOR

a.       Now before we begin talking about the different pieces of armor lets talk a moment about just how much armor we need! COMPLETE!

Ephesians 6:13AMP

Therefore put on God’s complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place].

b.      This isn’t so we will look like good soldiers ready of inspection but so we will be able to stand our ground!

2 Corinthians 10:4AMP

For the weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood], but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds,

c.       After all, just who will be left standing when He returns? “Many are called but few are chosen!

Malachi 3:2AMP

But who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner’s fire and like fullers’ soap; [Rev. 6:12-17.]

2.    The First Piece of Armor The Belt of truth!

a.       Don’t marvel at how it looks, but at what it really is!

John 4:23AMP

A time will come, however, indeed it is already here, when the true (genuine) worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth (reality); for the Father is seeking just such people as these as His worshipers.

b.       The Truth doesn’t bind us down but makes us free!

John 8:31-32KJV

31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

3. The Second piece of armor The Breastplate of Righteousness

a.       This is not a breastplate of religion as so many want to think not an act but a new life!

Psalm 119:6-8KJV

6 Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all thy commandments.

7I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned thy righteous judgments. 8 I will keep thy statutes: O forsake me not utterly.

b.      This is more than something we don’t tire ourselves with but something we work on for Jesus!

Acts 24:16NASB95

16     “In view of this, I also do my best to maintain always a blameless conscience both before God and before men.

c.        I have often said that the breastplate of Righteousness is stronger than Iron but the breastplate of Religion is as weak as tin foil. Pretty, shiny, but weak!

2 Corinthians 6:7NASB95

7     in the word of truth, in the power of God; by the weapons of righteousness for the right hand and the left,
