The Only Road Home

The world is full of problems; we even make some for ourselves at times! We don’t need to let those problems bring us down in any way!

John 14:1-6KJV

1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. 5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

1)      Don’t let Satan pull you down. (verse 1)

a. By the cares of this life

1 Peter 5:7KJV

7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

b. No matter how bad things seem God can and will handle things

Isaiah 43:2-3KJV

2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. 3 For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.

c. No matter what happens God can and is watching out for you.

Romans 8:28KJV

28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

If we remember these things and accept them we can’t be depressed

2)      We Have a Home (verse 2)

a. Christ has already prepared a place just for you!

2 Corinthians 5:1KJV

1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

b. A place beyond our imagination!

1 Corinthians 2:9KJV

9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

But that’s not all!!!

3)      We Have a Hope! (verse 3)

a.       A Blessed Hope!

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17KJV

16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

b. An eternal Hope

John 11:25-26KJV

25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: 26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

4)      The Road Home (verse 4)

a.       The path is right here in front of us.

John 10:9-10KJV

9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. 10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

5)      There is only One Way (verse 6)

ABC’s of Salvation

Romans 3:23KJV

23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

John 3:16-18KJV

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Romans 10:9-10KJV

9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
