*Our God is an Awesome God! Do you believe Him?*

Text John 14:16-18

We have heard the song “Our God is an Awesome God” it is fun to sing -
Do we believe it?
Read words in 1 Kings 18:26-38 how Elijah prayed, and fire came from Heaven and burned the sacrifice.
Do we believe it?
In 2 Kings 2:11 where Elisha saw Elijah taken up in a whirlwind riding a chariot of fire!
Do we believe it?
Where Jesus healed the sick, fed the multitude, raised the dead, cleansed the leper, and died the arose from the grave.
Do we believe it?
Do we really believe that our God is an awesome God?
Or just a “comfortable” one that takes no faith to believe?
Jesus told us that he was going to leave us a Comforter;
Do we believe it?
\\ */John 14:16 through John 14:18 (KJV) \\ /*16And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17/Even/ the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
18I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
Where Christ promised power to us that we can witness to the world;
Do we believe it?
\\ */Acts 1:8 (KJV) \\ /*8But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
*What about Pentecost Sunday;*
Do we believe it?
\\ */Acts 2:1 (KJV) \\ /*1And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
*/Acts 2:2 (KJV) \\ /*2And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
Do we believe it?
\\ */Acts 2:3 (KJV) \\ /*3And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
Do we believe it?
\\ */Jeremiah 20:9 (KJV) \\ /*9Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name.
But /his word/ was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not /stay/.
\\ */Acts 2:4 (KJV) \\ /*4And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
The Word is plain, Do we believe it?
Are we willing to receive it?!
