Are you Ready?

2 Peter 3:10-13KJV

10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, 12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? 13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

The day of the Lord shall come as a “thief in the night”. Are you prepared if he comes this moment? Many people out there think “yeah I’m ready” like they can take it! But a thief in the night comes not when you are looking but when he sees there is nobody looking!

1 Thessalonians 5:1-11KJV

1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. 2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. 3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. 4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. 5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. 7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. 8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. 9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.

11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

Is our church prepared for His return? How many are there here today? How many people do you know that should be here right now? Just how many out there are unsaved?

Are you satisfied with the amount of people you have led to the Lord this past year?

Acts 2:47KJV

47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

The Lord added to the church DAILY that tells me that they didn’t just wait till Sunday service and hope maybe someone would get saved but rather they constantly evangelized! Everyone doing their part not simply waiting for someone else to do it for them.

We say we have so many disadvantages, so did the Apostles. How many of us have been stoned, crucified, boiled in oil, what we have to deal with is so small compared to others.

WITHHOLDING LIFE-SAVING TRUTH

A while back, a Kansas City pharmacist was charged with diluting cancer treatment drugs, Gemzar and Taxol, in order to make a larger profit. So far there are 20 felony counts against the pharmacist, Robert Courtney. He admitted to diluting the drugs from November 2000 to March 2001.

This man held life-saving power in his hands and for the sake of personal gain diluted it to the point where it could not help people. We can do the same with God's life-saving truth.

John 4:35KJV

35 Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.

We are coming ever closer to the “end of the road” I fear that there aren’t just a lot of nice folks out there who won’t hear Christ's voice when he returns for us! There are a lot of what we see as “good Christian individuals” whose lives aren’t what they ought to be. They won’t hear His voice either, many will be surprised at the trumpet call!

Matthew 7:21-22KJV

21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
