*OCCULT*

 

*DESCRIPTION:*

 

Included in things of the occult are precognition or fortune telling.

ESP, telepathy, clairvoyance, automatic writing, Ouija board, astrology, horoscopes, tea leaf reading, palmistry, techniques of mind expansion, drugs, hypnotism, mind control, transcendental meditation, yoga, sorcery or witchcraft, physical phenomena, telekinesis, levitation, astral projection, spiritism, or spiritualism, seances and Satanism, etc.

In natural and Biblical history the pattern is: diminishing spiritual life, to legalism, to materialism, to liberalism, to seeking life=s answers outside the Word thence to spiritism encouched in the occult.

Occultism often involves drugs, idolatry, and sexual perversion.

*BIBLICAL STATEMENT:*

 

Even as we are besieged with the many forms and avenues of satanic influence, we have the absolute authority, through or Lord Jesus Christ, that we can bind the powers of darkness and dispel them.

They must do our bidding as we speak Ain the Name of Jesus.@

*COUNSEL*:

 

\\ To verbally renounce occult activity is a necessity.

Determine if the person can and will repent, and minister holiness to that person.

If the person will not repent nor renounce occult involvement of any kind then deliverance is indicated.

Usually the person is reading occult literature and having fellowship with others in the occult and practicing occultism.

These practices must be repented of and replaced by scriptural reading matter and Christian fellowship and growth which includes practicing Christian living.

If the person cannot voluntary break away from the occult practices, deliverance is needed.

A complete break with occultism is necessary.

Saturate yourself with Scriptures.

Begin with the Gospel according to John.

Read the rest of the New Testament from there.

Acquire a Bible study guide.

Get into Spirit filled fellowship.

Learn about Jesus and get serious with God.

You will recognize the counterfeit when you know the real God.
