*Tree and Its Fruit*

*Matthew 7:15-23**15 **Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

**16 **Ye shall know them by their fruits.

Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

**17 **Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

**18 **A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither /can /a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

**19 **Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

**20 **Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

**21 **Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

**22** **Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

6:7 **Be not deceived**; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

**8 **For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.*

/CONVICTION/* *OF THE HEART TO SEE THE NEED OF A RELATIONSHIP*

 

*1651 elegcho {el-eng'-kho}**/ /**/CONVICTION/** of uncertain; convince  (one's) fault; to convict; generally with a suggestion of shame of the person convicted; by conviction to bring to the light, to expose; to find fault with; to call to account, show one his fault, demand an explanation.*

*John 8:8** **And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.**9

**And they which heard /it/, being convicted by /their own /conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, /even /unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman (/caught in adultery/) standing in the midst.*

character.

With your wife or husband; children; best friend; sweetheart; children or grandchildren.

ENCOUNTERING =(face to face with).*

*21 **Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

**22 **Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

*At this juncture Jesus indicates that He will be the Judge of the world in the coming times.

**A**That day**@** is the time of the Lord**=**s coming in glory and the time of judgement.

* *

*The **A**many**@** are those who are distinct from the rest of those confessing Jesus becuase, despite their **A**achievements**@**, they have not been doers of the divine will.

The fact that **A**many**@** are mentioned indicates that the danger of false prophets is~/was very great.

The false prophets call on Jesus**=** name, just as the true prophets **A**in your name**@**.

Some succeeded in casting out demons, but not all.

That these men appeal to their **A**works**@** **A**in that day**@** may indicate that they claim to have achieved something exceptional.

But they have deceived themselves and used the name of Jesus w~/o submitting to his Lordship.*

*23 **And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

(KJV)**  **I never knew you: **homologeo {hom-ol-og-eh'-o}Confess; profess; promise , to admit or declare, **DEPART FROM ME, YE THAT WORK /INIQUITY/.*

*458 anomia {an-om-ee'-ah} **/iniquity /**unrighteousness , transgress the law; transgression of the law. 1) the condition of without law  2) because of violating it 3) contempt and violation of law 4.)wickedness*

*A** I N K Y **A** was used by rabbis in excomunication formulas.

It does not mean, therefore that Jesus did not see through the false prophets and their followers; rather it indicates that they were strangers to Him, outsiders who would be excluded from the kingdom of God.

*DON**=**T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU.    **Jesus cited Psalm 6:8 in that connection.*

*PSALM 6:1-9*
