Included in this need is: (1) God=s forgiveness, necessary for salvation and His favor to you, (2) man=s forgiveness of others, necessary for one=s own health and to release others to receive God=s favor, and (3) self-forgiveness, also necessary for one=s own health spiritually, mentally, and physically.

To love the Lord with heart, mind, soul and strength, and one=s neighbor as one=s self is to have experienced forgiveness and to have forgiven others as well as self. See the Lord=s prayer Matt. 6:12).

Matthew 6:12  Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.

Psalm 103:10  he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. 11  For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; 12  as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. (NIV)

Isaiah 43:25 "I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more. (NIV)

Matthew 6:14 For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. (NIV)

John 20:20 After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord. 21 Again Jesus said, "Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you." 22 And with that he breathed on them and said, "Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven." (NIV)

Forgiveness of God: Minister salvation and the baptism of the Holy Spirit as needed.  Pray for God=s word to you for this person.  As you seek the Lord, expect the Spirit to show you how to pray and what to say as you minister.

If the person is a Christian already, be open to the Spirit revealing unconfessed and unforsaken sin.  Take seriously the person=s feelings of guilt.  Sins must be repented of.

Forgiveness of others: If no relief from a guilt burden is felt, and worry, anxiety and fear are present, there may be bitterness and resentment for someone.  The person needs to forgive and ask God to forgive that person.  When forgiven, the other person is released from the bondage of the condemnation you have heaped upon them.  What you bind is bound.  What you loose, is loosed (John 20:22-23).  Then God can do something with the person toward whom you are bitter and resentful, and you will also know release and joy.

Forgiveness of self: After knowing God has forgiven, and after forgiving others from whom you have experienced wrong, there should be no barrier to being able to forgive yourself.  By faith, accept God=s word in Isa. 43:18-18.

Isaiah 43:1819 18  "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. 19  See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland. (NIV)

Begin to minister honor and respect to God who is doing a new thing in you, by offering sacrifices of praise to him Heb. 13:15.

Hebrews 13:13 13 Let us, then, go to him outside the camp, bearing the disgrace he bore. (NIV)

Pray for the fruit of the Spirit for the person.  Minister deliverance from any oppressive spirit which would deny the fruit of the Spirit.  Pray for God=s anointing upon the person, and rejoice in praises to God in the counselee=s behalf.
