I will exalt you my God, the king. I will praise your name Forever and Ever every day. I will praise. You and extol your name forever and ever. Great is the Lord and most worthy of Praise His greatness. No one can fathom. Now that's kind of the direction. We're going to do go today, we're going to look at praising the Lord. So exciting things.

Prayer request, you know what we've gone through. It is so I just explained earlier on these type of things and but on top of Mary's mother in hospice. So is my sister-in-law, they live in Yachats with my brother Ray and his wife, Debbie. And as she's in hospice right now and is not expected to live much longer. She's down to 60 lb and so. So anyway, want to be a prayer for her as well. Let's pray.

Racist, Father in Heaven. How precious you are four. Again, you are the holder of life for you have given life to those who have called upon your name and you have created us in your image, how wonderful that is for. You truly have blessed us and father, we thank you and praise you, for all of that. But father, you're also The God Who touches hearts and lives and brings them to the point of knowing you and we know so many people that do not have that, hope that you can give that true hope of eternal life. And so we pray for the lives of the people in our community and around our world that are in desperate need of knowing Jesus Christ, as Lord and Savior. So father we pray that you would be with them. Father, we also pray for the needs and I think of Mary's mother Helen as she is Bound for Glory. Thank you for her life, that exalted you and that we can take joy and hope and seeing her once again. And father, I also pray for my sister-in-law Debbie as she is ready to pass from this life. May you be with Ray and Debbie is they go through this process? Be with them and lift them up? Father, we also know that there are many here who have request but their unspoken request, and there is a need, and we know that, you know, our hearts and, you know what the needs are. And you are one who touches us where we do have those needs. So, father, we pray for your money. Touch to be there to bring healing and restoration and strength and wisdom to face those difficulties in life. May you lift each other up. And now, father, is we continue on in our worship of you may we do so lifting you up and the praising your holy name for you truly are worthy in Jesus name. Amen.

Before we get started, let's have a word of Prayer. Aunt. Grace's Father in Heaven. A precious. You are how truly holy and righteous you are and you've called Righteous people and may we continue to grab one that as we live through this life, will never reach it. Totally but father made that be our goal as we press on to understand and know you more and more and walk in that precious light that you give Father, may your spirit be here to guide each heart. Every one of us needs to draw near to you. And so father, as we listen to the words, That are spoken by my mouth but hopefully by your power in your strength that we would draw near and love you more in Jesus name, amen. Well, we're going to get a new series. We're going to be looking at Psalm 103 for the next 3 weeks and I'm excited about it. There's a lot of great stopping at some today. At this series is called, It's All About the Lord, It's All About the Lord. In Italy is that's what our lives ought to be about. If we truly love Jesus Christ, and want him to be the Lord of our lives. And today is praise the Lord. And started off. I thought I'd talk about my desire to be a think about basketball because I enjoy the game and I want to be a great shooter. So I've thought about going out and buying a hoop in a basket and I'm dedicating myself to go out there once every day and take a shot at that poop. And I hope to someday be a great shooter. Does that sound right Sam? How long is it going to take me to get there?

About a hundred and fifty years. And that's probably about, right, there's a little dedication there but not very much is there. In order to be a great shooter. If Sam were to watch a young man or a lady in grade school, that would be 11 or 12 years old and they could see some Talent there. Any would instruct them about wanting to be a basketball player and how good to be? I'm sure that it would also contain a great amount of time. Very often on the basketball, shooting hundreds of shots, not one a day. Now, I say all this because up to something obviously, And that is this, you know, sometimes we think that we love God and we want to exalt him in our lives and lift him up and have him high and we think about talking to him. And yet it comes down to wake you up in the morning. Gotta thank you for the sleep and on with our life and then maybe once a day meal, as you gather together, you say, God, thanks for this food. Amen. And you're on your way and that's kind of The way we live our lives dedicated to the Lord, we take one shot a day or two shots a day and, and that's it. You know, and how many years is it going to take to get to really be a good shooter? 150 years. And if you have that kind of time in your life I don't think so. I don't think so. In other words it takes a great effort and when we think about praising the lord, it's part of the process, you know? Each and every one of us needs to remember that the greatest thing in your life.

Is not your family. It's not your loved ones, it's not your job, it's not the fun vacations. You might take it's not any of those things. The greatest thing that is for your life is to know the Living God It's the only thing that will make any change for your eternity. And Eternity is a really long time. Long, long time. And we need to think about that as we go through our lives. And one of the things that we do to draw us closer to close things were talking about today, and that's the whole idea of praising. The Lord And if you think about it and you might say, oh well praising the Lord, you know why does he need my praise? He created everything. He's pretty awesome. God. Yeah, he is but you don't praise the Lord because you're trying to make God feel good. You know, he doesn't need your Strokes to make him feel better. He doesn't need you to do that, so that somehow he can bless you and he doesn't need you to do that, to give you sell vacation. Even

He doesn't need to do all that, he want you to do it for you. If you really want to walk with God, if you want to know him with all your heart, you need to recognize Lee is. And when you come to the Lord and you praise him, you're acknowledging who he is. You know, and it's not that it's taking one shot, you know, I'm coming out in one shot a day, praise the Lord. And then I'm I'm on to my life right now, that isn't the way it happens with God or anything else, you want to be successful in Endeavors in your life, it takes Effort. Lots of lots of effort to do that. In part of that effort, is that you remember who God is. And when you go before him in prayer, in song in activity, You're recognized. He's part of your life there. Part of your body. What, let's get busy. Let's go to Psalm 103 and begin looking at it. And what all that means, we're going to look at the first verse here, very important, praise the Lord, my soul, all my inmost, being praise His holy name, Praise the Lord. Oh my soul, you know, it deep within their think about that. You know, deep within me. I need that praise to come out now. It's really you think about praising God. How important is that? Well, if you read the whole Psalm 103 you find out, it says it six times in the song. Now, read all of the songs is how many times that comes out. You know, continual all the way through the song tells us to praise God. So it's a really important part of our existence in this life that our praise to him. Comes out over and over again. Give you an example. Psalm 138 verses 1 and 2. It says I will praise you. Lord with all my heart before the Gods. That's everything else in the world that might take the glory from God before them. I will sing your praise. I will bow down toward your Holy Temple and will praise your name for your unfailing love. And your faithfulness is he. That's taking who he is and praising him for those details for you. Have so exalted, your solemn decree that it surpasses your Fame. Your solemn decree all its Fountain and about him in the word of God. Expresses his glory and his majesty and we need to think about those things. It needs to be from the depth of our heart that that prays comes because the deeper down you go the more you bring it out in the more, you remember who he is? So is your lip through your life, and you remember that, God is with you, and you remember that he is faithful and true. And righteous, you know, when you're going through difficult times and you're looking at it and say it, I do I have to go through these. Just remember who he is and it gives you peace and it gives you comfort going through those the depth of Praise. Some 139:14. I will praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works, are wonderful. I know that full well Think about your body. You are made in the image of God. God wants to. Be a part of that image. He wants to be living in you and exalted in you. You know he's giving you eyes to see and ears to hear you giving you a mind that I can process and think through even what you're being given right now. He's giving you a body that operates and moves.

You can go down the list is giving you a credible things about your own line. If you want to praise him, you can begin right there. There's so much. You can praise him before, as you think and see here are all Realms of. Praise that bring us to him. We also have a voice. I'm using it right now. God has given me a voice to speak his word. But you used it earlier on cuz you had a boys to sing his Praise In His glory. Psalm, 95 1 and 2 says come, let us sing for Joy to the Lord. Let us shout aloud, the rock of our Salvation. Let us come before him with thanks giving his stall him with music and song. You know, it's Mary and I were over in Spokane and we joined together. Mary has nine siblings and eight were there along with Mary. So nine of the 10 where there with Mary and they gather around. And as you might remember, a pretty musical Clan and for several hours, we were sitting around a, a room that is just off where Mom was laying down and we were singing songs real songs for those two hours, what a wonderful thing it was to shout aloud to the Lord and give him praise for all that's going on. You know, we have that opportunity. Every time we sing a song here, it's an opportunity for you to really think about and praise God for what he is and what he does for your lives. And every time you do that, you build in yourself, these building blocks of understanding and knowledge of the Living God. And it's so important for us to do that anyway, a week to several verses that we all couldn't remember the wording for that. And you could hear, mom singing, those purses in the background, she had an amazing night at 94 years old and she still has a mind that remembers all those songs but you song for probably 92 of those years you know, because she's been in church, all her life came out.

But is also has to do with what we do. Those things, we do, how we honor God with Those actions that encourage and bless others. 1st John 5 2 says, this is how we know that we love the children of God by loving God and carrying out his commands. And so as we serve one another, we're truly serving God in obedience. And we're praising his name. Any time you do something for somebody else. That's a praise to the Living. God, that's showing him how much you love him. And we need to be involved in those activities. What are the benefits to use to me by praising God? And we can see that and just see what he says. Praise the Lord, my soul and for not getting out all his benefits who forgives all your sins and heals, all your diseases who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion who satisfies your desires with good things. So that your youth is renewed like the eagle

Right. Stop. You know when I open myself up and I'm willing to praise God and to see his glory and power, it builds within me those building blocks of understanding and knowledge. So that when I do fake, the things in life that are difficulties or struggles or even blessings that I can recognize God working in those things. Why? Because I've built that relationship with him by remembering who he is when I see him. And when I praise him, God has a desire for your life. And for my life, And dumb. He states that information while we talked about in Sunday school today, Jeremiah 11 for. I know the plans I have for you to Claire's the Lord plans to prosper you and not to harm. You plans to give you hope and a future. God wants that. Hope to be so powerful and so strong, there's no question. When we were departing from Mary's mom. She said, I'll see you a little later. Which is exactly she will. You won't see her in this life, but we will see her throughout eternity, why? Because she is assured of what God has done in her life. There's no doubt. She had a sure hope and she has a future with the Living God. And so to marry and I we believe that, I hope that you have a shoe or future. Isn't that wonderful? He has great plans for your life and her my life. Isn't that wonderful in that wonderful. One of those lands is truly and has happened. The Forgiveness, he desires to forgive your sins and all you have to do is come before I'm send against you and such an area. Please forgive me cleanse me so that I will be pure and holy righteous before you Isaiah 3817 says that surely it was for my benefit that I suffered such anguish in your love. You kept me from the pit of Destruction, you have pulled all my put all my sins behind your back. You see when God forget that sin is gone is behind his back, he doesn't remember it. You may suffer for it through the struggles of life, but he doesn't remember it.

He loves you. He care, if he wants to give you that benefit of forgiveness. Speaking of love. That's the next thing that we have here. The amazing love of the Living God. You know, he not only created you and formed you from the very beginning, you know, when he created the heavens and the Earth and he was setting you and I apart, he knew you were going to come here in this age. Thousands of years, after his creation to be right here. He knew you now that's love. But not only. Did he love you enough? He knew you were also going to be a sinner. Going to walk away from him. And that you need forgiveness and so he sent Jesus Christ as a love offering for your life in my life that through his shedding of blood on that cross. he cleansed us from our sins when we ask him to Come to him. John 3:16. All of us, know this for God. So loved the world that he gave his one and only son that whosoever believes in Him. Should not perish but have eternal life in that wonderful. and he satisfies God is wiser needs, you know, I I look back on that time when I had the brain tumor and you know it, my life was going.

It's a matter of fact, the doctor said, we hadn't done the operation, you would have been dead and just a month or two. And and yet I had the satisfaction that we're God, had me. I was I was content because He had given me a hole through his life and so when the doctor was telling me the odds of getting through this operation weren't very good. He said it in so many ways, he was very kind and just about it. I have the opportunity to tell him, you know, my wife isn't held in your hand held in the hands of the Living God. And I'm content whatever he chooses to do with this weather, he brings me through and he loves me or whether he takes me home to Glory. I'm perfectly content and satisfied. And that's the way we can be when we are truly trusting in Him when our praise is continually going up to him and Thanksgiving for wherever he has this weather. It's great things that we see on this Earth or whether its struggles. It's all great if we trust in God blippi. Ins for that 12 and 13 says I know what it is to be in need and I know what it is to have plenty, I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation where they're well-fed or hungry, where their living and Plenty or in want I can do all this who gives me strength, you see when we're Reliant upon God. And when we hold onto his Coach. We have that strength in that power to go through all the struggles of life. All the struggles of life. And he said it's fine but sometimes one of the things he has to do is truly, wait wait upon him to renew our strength. And I came through the surgery in August and we knew that God had brought me through and so he had plans for my life going back to Jeremiah 29:11. I have plans for you and so Mary, and I trusted that he had plans for us and so we begin the recovery process which took a long time. We were waiting upon the Lord, that's held in this verse here, Isaiah 40 31. One of those great verses that talks about God's plans for us when we trust in him. But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength, they will soar on wings, like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. Well, I know about running and I know about walking cuz I've been involved in a lot of those things in my life, but you know, that thing about the eagle flying, you know, I have been good. Given this great picture of this, you know, those who wait, will be like the eagle, some friends of ours, the Army and Amy came with us on a vacation trip. To Spain, we went to Madrid and Play-Doh and Segovia and saw some amazing things but we also visited the missionary, there was a friend of Jeremy and Amy, and they had this house that was kind of out of the way and right behind their house was this big mountain that went up, probably over a thousand feet and it was just covered with rocks, big rocks a little rocks and I looked up at that when I first got there his home and I'd sure like to climb that mountain. Do you know? That would be fun. So he asked us. I think his name was John. I can't remember his name was. I said, I'd like to climb that that mountain and so we got together and we got our lunch packed and everything else. And at about 9:00 in the morning, we climbed and climbed and I'm sweating like crazy, because it was a nice hot day. And we were working hard and we got about halfway up that mountain after about 3 hours of hiking and we said, well, let's have lunch. And so we sat down on the Rock overlooking everything and you could see way out in the country of Spain. See it spread out before his butt.

Gary were down there and they were walking around down below and then we saw this Eagle that just opened its wings up. Now, that is probably sitting in those bushes all day and was waiting for something. You know what he was waiting for? The Heat 2. spread his wings and flap his wings and he took off, and he began to soar, Any sore and soared in about 10 minutes, he flew right over us, 10 minutes, it didn't do any work. He didn't do anything. It just sword and he did what we did in 3 hours and 10 minutes of just story Amazing. Huh. Amazing picture of this verse that if we wait on the Lord. If we allow him to guide us Will find the right way. So praise the Lord, praise His name. Now the ending of the story from Mary and eyes, we're here with you. We waited for the Lord to give us a call and you called us and we're here. And we just thank the Lord and praise him for the blessings that we have had here with you. And continue to have. With your you? Here. Let's finish it off. Verse 6 verse 6, it says the Lord works, right? And justice for all the oppressed The Lord Works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed. And when we keep looking at the Lord, when we keep praising him in recognizing him in the things that we do, he works it all out. He worked it all out, great person thinking about this is Hebrews 12:2, it says, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the Pioneer, our author and Perfecter of faith for the joy set before him. And during the cross, scorning the shame and sat down at the right hand of the Throne of God, Now did Jesus ever take his eyes off of the Living God? He kept his focus on God through it all through, all the great times he had on this Earth and through all the suffering is and that's where our Focus needs to be. And that's why I called us fix our eyes on Jesus. The one who gave us faith and allowed us to be worshippers of the Living. God, it also is molding Us in, perfecting us into His Image, helping us to know who he is. And part of that process is praising him. Praising him. Being righteous. One of those great verses in the Bible that really changed to help change the direction of of the Reformation, was this verse. It was one that changed Martin Luther and gave him a whole sense of God's blessing on mankind, Romans 1:17 for The Gospel, Four in the gospel. The righteousness of God is revealed a righteousness that is by faith From First to Last justice, has written the righteous will live by faith and he began to understand that it wasn't about what I did.

But what I believe. My righteousness comes because I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God that I believe that he came to Earth that he lived, the perfect life. I believed that he was nailed to that cross and he suffered and died there. And I believe that he rose again on the third day and through all that, I believe that the blood he shed on that cross the covering of my sins that's fake. That's fake and that's what changes are lost. and it brings us to the point where we called to praise the Living God because of the righteousness that we have faith in Jesus Christ,

Is also the God of Justice and sometimes we see things in the world, and we say there is, there's no justice in this world. There is conflict and struggles and everything else but God is a God of Justice. And ultimately he does bring us To that point of Justice in our lives, all things will be brought to Justice in eternity. But have that in our lives, when we come to know, Jesus Christ through faith. List five one. Therefore since we have been justified through faith we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

You know in that peace with God it's a incredible growing thing that happens as we live that lie for him day by day.

Our understanding of Justice becomes clear. Our understanding of righteousness becomes clearer. As we look to God, And we desire to know him. With all our being and part of that process is that we praise His holy name. That we praise Him in all that. He's done. Who he is, we praise him with our voices. We praise him with our actions. We praise him. With all we are, but even more. So, as scripture just pointed out, we praise him from our kin, most be used to praise the Living God and as we do. So,

We grow in him. And those struggles that we have in this life. They're not so bad because we know that he's walking with us that he's going through those things. He understands he knows the heartache and the struggles, but he's there with us and we can trust in him. Because he is the Mighty God. He is the Everlasting one. He is the holder of our Fame.

He's the loving God. The caring God The one who has compassion on your life and my life. The one who seeks to have good things happen to us. And all those are Praises that we can give to the Living God. So, here's a suggestion for you is number one. Be thinking about Godin and praising it with song and everything else. But think about praying towards him regularly during the day, and when you do Take the time to praise him for something. Every time you go to it.

Praise him for who he is, and what he does. As you do that, you will begin to grow in your understanding of him.

in basketball terms, you're going to start sinking those baskets. Making it work becoming that good shooter, but it takes a lot of time and takes a lot of energy from you. But you know, it's the greatest thing that could happen to you in this life. So isn't it worth That time and energy and know the Living God. I think so. Anyway. Let's praise the Lord. Grace's Father in Heaven. How wonderful it is to have your word that really displays the wandering Glory if you are but how we can look to you in praise, you knowing that you're the Mighty God, the Everlasting one, the prince that brings peace to our loss, the one who has the plan of Eternity laid out before us as we trust in you. Father, thank you. Thank you. It help us to remember that praising. You is not a bad thing. It is a great thing that we can do in our lives and may we strive to do that each and every day. Thank you, Lord, in Jesus name, amen.
