Revelation 19:11–16 NKJV
11 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. 12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. 13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. 15 Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16 And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS
Introduction:
We have seen so many incredible sights in this book, but none compares to the second coming of Christ!
It is here that all misconceptions of Jesus the God man go right out the window!
We do not have to speculate as to whether He will judge righteously, or fairly!
Misconceptions that He is weak and passive are now dispelled!
We also do not have to fret over injustice or any other wrong doing!
He is coming back to judge the world, and to wage war with all evil, and He will be victorious!
And to those who do not believe it?
2 Peter 3:8–10 NKJV
8 But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.
And so today, we look at the character of the Lord of glory, as a reminder as to whom we serve, and to be ready!

I. We see His Divinity.

For those that deny the deity of Christ, there is only one thing to say!
They are fools and lost!
Notice in this passage these things written:
He is called faithful and true (11)
1 John 5:20 NKJV
20 And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.
He had a name written that no one knew except Himself (12)
His name is called the Word of God (13)
John 1:1 NKJV
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
And a name written, KING of KING and LORD of LORDS (16)

II. We see His Power.

Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. (15)

III. We see His Judgment.

and in righteousness He judges (11)
He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood (13)
Some think this to be synonomous with His sacrifice at Calvary. But I think it has to do more with His trampling on the wine press of the wrath of God.
The blood is the blood of His enemies!
A fitting battle image.
Isaiah 63:1–6 NKJV
1 Who is this who comes from Edom, With dyed garments from Bozrah, This One who is glorious in His apparel, Traveling in the greatness of His strength?— “I who speak in righteousness, mighty to save.” 2 Why is Your apparel red, And Your garments like one who treads in the winepress? 3 “I have trodden the winepress alone, And from the peoples no one was with Me. For I have trodden them in My anger, And trampled them in My fury; Their blood is sprinkled upon My garments, And I have stained all My robes. 4 For the day of vengeance is in My heart, And the year of My redeemed has come. 5 I looked, but there was no one to help, And I wondered That there was no one to uphold; Therefore My own arm brought salvation for Me; And My own fury, it sustained Me. 6 I have trodden down the peoples in My anger, Made them drunk in My fury, And brought down their strength to the earth.”

IV. We see His Glory.

He rides a white horse (11)
His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. (12)

V. We see His Purity.

The color of His horse is an indicator of purity, and the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. (14)
These hings tell us of His holiness and purity that He imparts to His own, through the redemption.
Conclusion:
This is the true Jesus!
This is the Savior!
He is unchangeable -
Hebrews 13:8 NKJV
8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
He is certainly not what people today think.
Yes, His love for sinners is great, and He bids all to come to Him where there is forgiveness and life everlasting; But, He is coming to set things right!
