The Importance of Faith

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

It is impossible to please God without faith.

We cannot experience a living relationship with the God of the Bible without faith.

We must believe that He exists.

He does not fit in a test tube.

He cannot be observed under a microscope.

We must believe that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

God wants to be sought.

God wants to be believed.

God wants to be obeyed.

The Importance of Faith

We cannot be saved apart from faith.

John 3:36 NKJV

He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”

We cannot experience victory over this world apart from faith.

1 John 5:4 NKJV

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.

We cannot expect to receive answers to prayer apart from faith.

James 1:6–8 NKJV

But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

We cannot be justified in the sight of the Lord apart from faith.

Galatians 2:16 NKJV

knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.

We cannot experience peace in our relationship with God apart from faith.

We cannot experience joy in our relationship with God apart from faith.

Christ cannot live in our hearts apart from faith.

We cannot live out the Christian life apart from faith.

We cannot experience the presence and power of the Holy Spirit apart from faith.

This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?— Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?

We cannot experience true liberty in Christ apart from faith

Romans 14:22–23 NKJV

Do you have faith? Have it to yourself before God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves. But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat from faith; for whatever is not from faith is sin.

Why is faith important?

Faith always honors God, and God always honors faith.
