1 Peter 2:11–17 CSB
Dear friends, I urge you as strangers and exiles to abstain from sinful desires that wage war against the soul. Conduct yourselves honorably among the Gentiles, so that when they slander you as evildoers, they will observe your good works and will glorify God on the day he visits. Submit to every human authority because of the Lord, whether to the emperor as the supreme authority or to governors as those sent out by him to punish those who do what is evil and to praise those who do what is good. For it is God’s will that you silence the ignorance of foolish people by doing good. Submit as free people, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but as God’s slaves. Honor everyone. Love the brothers and sisters. Fear God. Honor the emperor.
We are talking about our actions being on trial today. The things we do the things we thing about doing and how it is so important.
This is a passage that when we get down to what it is talking about it is in fact a cheat code to making life easier, simpler in fact.
Think about this: Why do you do what you do?
Is it for joy, Because you are bored, you do not think before you do it? what is the real reason we do what we do.
It is a question that we have to ask ourselves in order to fully take on this passage to the mean that is in it.
this passage is talking about 2 different things that when we do it we will become successful.
First thing that we have to look at is how we conduct ourselves.

Our Conduct

The first thing that this passage talks about is the way we conduct ourselves. See this passage talks about when we do follow Christ we have to look and see that we what we do matters.
It doesn't say that life is going to be easy. It does say that people will be against you in ever type of manner. But what else does it say. It says to conduct yourself in a manner that which is sinless. In English it means hold yourself to a higher standard and prove that you are better that what other say about you.
If you live the life that is worthy of Christ and you show that it does not matter what others say about you because you will live a higher standard and in the end they will see that Christ is the one that shines through.
The next thing that it talks about is to

Is the honor the wise

See what it says we have to do here is to honor the person that is in charge of you no matter what the reason for them being in charge .
Them being in charge was put there for God reasons and who are we to question God.
What we are called to do is to embrace the person.
What does this mean ? What it mean is if you do not like what your parent decide or your teachers, elders in the church you are still called to respect them and give them the respect that you would give someone else in the title.
When we embrace this we show the love of Christ even if the person doesn't deserved it .
So We have to ask ourselves are we lacking in this area. do we need to ask God for forgiveness? .
Index card respect activity.
