/The Shell of Worship/
It is never the outward shell of our worship that matters to God.
The thing that matters is what is in our hearts.
So we must not get sidetracked with foolish arguments over whether organs or tambourines are more holy, whether God is more pleased with Handel’s “Hallelujah Chorus” or with an “Alleluia” chorus, or whether God cares if we are sitting on red or blue pew cushions to express our common thanks.
God encounters what is in the depths of our heart when we come to worship.
The outwardness is but a shell.
NLT Psalm 24:3 Who may climb the mountain of the LORD?
Who may stand in his holy place? 4 Only those whose hands and hearts are pure, who do not worship idols and never tell lies.
NLT 1 Timothy 2:8 So wherever you assemble, I want men to pray with holy hands lifted up to God, free from anger and controversy.
God bless Rhema Community Church to be a place where true worship takes place.
Amen.
