Another Angel

We saw last week, God’s hand reaching out to those who were still in rebellion to His rule and worship
Three angels went forth proclaiming the good news, a plea to worship the Living God not the false image and finally the reality f the pending judgement of God coming swiftly!
We now return to the remainder of the last 7 bowls of judge to be unleashed against Satan and his world followers, nut first a look at the final battle against God
Revelation 14:14–16 NKJV
Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and on the cloud sat One like the Son of Man, having on His head a golden crown, and in His hand a sharp sickle. And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to Him who sat on the cloud, “Thrust in Your sickle and reap, for the time has come for You to reap, for the harvest of the earth is ripe.” So He who sat on the cloud thrust in His sickle on the earth, and the earth was reaped.
We now see a picture of the avenging Savior coming to deal the final blow to Satan and his followers
Revelation 19:12 NKJV
His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself.
There is an intensity now to this conquering King - Eyes like a flaming fire - determination, judgement and victory was in His hands!
In His hand a sharp sickle for reaping - this time a sickle of judgement not forgiveness
In the Gospels we find that there is a harvest to be had
Luke 10:2 NKJV
Then He said to them, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.
You see God is interested in a harvest of Salvation - not the harvest of judgement to come!
Matthew 18:14 NKJV
Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.
God has done more than everything to make it possible for men to be saved from eternal seperation…The sad reality is that many will still reject! We have seen this in Romans
Romans 1:18 NKJV
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,
Speaking about this very day Paul warns the unbeliever
Romans 1:21–23 NKJV
because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.
Remember the message of the first angel?
Revelation 14:6–7 NKJV
Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth—to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people— saying with a loud voice, “Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.”
Romans 1:18–21 NKJV
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.
We see this playing out now in the book of Revelation
Man always questions the justice of God!
How can a loving God allow this to happen? How can God condemn anyone to Hell if He loves them? etc, etc, etc
The Justice of God is pure and blameless
God has been crying out since the beginning for man to return but to no avail many will suffer needlessly
Agian we see in the Old Testament the mention of this event in Isaiah
Isaiah 63:3–4 NKJV
“I have trodden the winepress alone, And from the peoples no one was with Me. For I have trodden them in My anger, And trampled them in My fury; Their blood is sprinkled upon My garments, And I have stained all My robes. For the day of vengeance is in My heart, And the year of My redeemed has come.
Isaiah 63:6 NKJV
I have trodden down the peoples in My anger, Made them drunk in My fury, And brought down their strength to the earth.”
Jesus is coming to establish His Kingdom!
Revelation 14:15 NKJV
And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to Him who sat on the cloud, “Thrust in Your sickle and reap, for the time has come for You to reap, for the harvest of the earth is ripe.”
FOR THE TIME HAS COME!
“The harvest of the earth is ripe” Man’s rebellion has reached its climax and the time of judgement has come
Remember that the fruit of the branch is the product of the vine!
John 15:5 NKJV
“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
Will bear much fruit! Either unto righteousness or unto judgement…your choice
The fruit of Satans branches is rebellion so the harvest of judgement has come
Revelation 14:16 NKJV
So He who sat on the cloud thrust in His sickle on the earth, and the earth was reaped.
Revelation 14:17–20 NKJV
Then another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle. And another angel came out from the altar, who had power over fire, and he cried with a loud cry to him who had the sharp sickle, saying, “Thrust in your sharp sickle and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth, for her grapes are fully ripe.” So the angel thrust his sickle into the earth and gathered the vine of the earth, and threw it into the great winepress of the wrath of God. And the winepress was trampled outside the city, and blood came out of the winepress, up to the horses’ bridles, for one thousand six hundred furlongs.
It is 1600 furlongs from Edom to Megiddo - 8 furlongs to a mile so about 200 miles
Isaiah 63:1 NKJV
Who is this who comes from Edom, With dyed garments from Bozrah, This One who is glorious in His apparel, Traveling in the greatness of His strength?— “I who speak in righteousness, mighty to save.”
Isaiah 63:10 NKJV
But they rebelled and grieved His Holy Spirit; So He turned Himself against them as an enemy, And He fought against them.
Who is it coming from Edom to fight this battle? Jesus Himself
Revelation 14:18–20 NKJV
And another angel came out from the altar, who had power over fire, and he cried with a loud cry to him who had the sharp sickle, saying, “Thrust in your sharp sickle and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth, for her grapes are fully ripe.” So the angel thrust his sickle into the earth and gathered the vine of the earth, and threw it into the great winepress of the wrath of God. And the winepress was trampled outside the city, and blood came out of the winepress, up to the horses’ bridles, for one thousand six hundred furlongs.
This is the gathering of the final conflict of man to overthrow the Lord on His return
Psalm 2:1–3 KJV 1900
Why do the heathen rage, And the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, And the rulers take counsel together, Against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, And cast away their cords from us.
The foolishness of man’s attempt to overthrow God. Their leader has convinced them that this time he can win! What foolishness!
Psalm 2:4 NLT
But the one who rules in heaven laughs. The Lord scoffs at them.
The blood will flow a horse’s bridle deep! for 200 miles! That is a lot of death!
Psalm 2:5–9 NKJV
Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, And distress them in His deep displeasure: “Yet I have set My King On My holy hill of Zion.” “I will declare the decree: The Lord has said to Me, ‘You are My Son, Today I have begotten You. Ask of Me, and I will give You The nations for Your inheritance, And the ends of the earth for Your possession. You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.’ ”
The great and terrible day of the Lord
Isaiah 2:12 NKJV
For the day of the Lord of hosts Shall come upon everything proud and lofty, Upon everything lifted up— And it shall be brought low—
Isaiah 13:6 NKJV
Wail, for the day of the Lord is at hand! It will come as destruction from the Almighty.
Isaiah 46:10 NKJV
Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things that are not yet done, Saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, And I will do all My pleasure,’
Joel 2:11 NKJV
The Lord gives voice before His army, For His camp is very great; For strong is the One who executes His word. For the day of the Lord is great and very terrible; Who can endure it?
Joel 3:14 NKJV
Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.
My friends....why would you delay the inevitable?
Obadiah 15 NKJV
“For the day of the Lord upon all the nations is near; As you have done, it shall be done to you; Your reprisal shall return upon your own head.
Today is the day of salvation for you!
