What is my goal as a pastor? equip the body to do the work of the ministry! Not reliant on me or anyone else to walk in the promises of God.
when I see certain things that people need understanding on, I teach on those things or have someone else come in to speak on those things.....
What the disciples had to say about the life of God!
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; 2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) 3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. 4 And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.
63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.
12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
WHAT ELSE DOES THAT SOUND LIKE? GOD DISCERNS THE HEARTS OF MAN! GOD AND THE WORD ARE ONE!
When you speak the word of God, you are speaking HIM onto the problem!
What Jesus had to say about the life of God!
9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works. 11 Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.
12 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. 13 And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.
15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.
19 “A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also. 20 At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. 21 He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”
30 I and My Father are one.”
31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone Him. 32 Jesus answered them, “Many good works I have shown you from My Father. For which of those works do you stone Me?”
33 The Jews answered Him, saying, “For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy, and because You, being a Man, make Yourself God.”
34 Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your law, ‘I said, “You are gods” ’? 35 If He called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken), 36 do you say of Him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, ‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’? 37 If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me; 38 but if I do, though you do not believe Me, believe the works, that you may know and believe that the Father is in Me, and I in Him.” 39 Therefore they sought again to seize Him, but He escaped out of their hand.
Question: Did Jesus make himself equal with God? NO GOD MADE HIM EQUAL WITH HIM!
1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, 4 that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. 5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. 8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. 10 And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. 13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. 15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” 16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.
18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. 19 For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.
Did we make ourselves equal with God? NO
According to the pharisees, if you say that you are a son of God you are making yourself equal with God.
As a man, Jesus only did and say what the Father told Him to say and do!
HE WAS PERFECT AND SINLESS!
He only did the will of the Father
QUESTION: IS GOD 100% SOVEREIGN?
DEF. OF SOVEREIGN - Easton's Bible Dictionary defines God's Sovereignty as His "absolute right to do all things according to his own good pleasure."
WHAT WAS JESUS PURPOSE ON HIS EARTHLY MINISTRY?
16 And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. 17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, 18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. 20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.
This was in His hometown!
58 Now He did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief.
5 Now He could do no mighty work there, except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them.
WHAT IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY? def- the state or fact of having a duty to deal with something or of having control over someone.
Our response to His ability!
moral responsibility - ????
What is our moral responsibility?
lay hands on the sick
cast out demons
speak in new tongues
feed the poor
take care of widows and orphans
make disciples
HOW DO THESE THINGS HAPPEN? BY LAWS THAT GOD HAS ESTABLISHED!
Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.
Law of Faith!
Not on how good you are....
THERE ARE SPIRITUAL LAWS JUST LIKE THERE ARE NATURAL LAWS!
Electric company example!
Now He could do no mighty work there, except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them.
Jesus who was perfect! Maximum in everything.
Now He did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief.
Did Jesus choose not to heal them?
Did God choose that?
25 Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, 26 and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse. 27 When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. 28 For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.”
29 Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
Electric company example!
Thus says the Lord,
The Holy One of Israel, and his Maker:
“Ask Me of things to come concerning My sons;
And concerning the work of My hands, you command Me.
We cannot command God to fulfill our selfish desires like a genie.......
Only what He has already provided through Jesus!
If there was a downturn in the US where they were coming to round up all of the christians, they would have a hard time distinguishing the world from the Christians!
We look the same
sick
fearful
lacking the fruit of the spirit
our lives have no signs of the living God living inside of us.
we are baptized in unbelief
the young people of today are more plugged into the world than ever before.
A LAW OF GOD!
Faith and unbelief come by hearing!
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
The fear of man brings a snare,
But whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe.

3. Fully committed/no doubt and unbelief.
AS LONG AS YOU CAN LIVE WITHOUT THE POWER OF GOD FLOWING THROUGH YOU, YOU WILL!

Death and life are in the power of the tongue,
And those who love it will eat its fruit.
every word is death or life.....
Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.”
For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.
WE DON’T TALK TO GOD ABOUT OUR MOUNTAIN, WE TALK TO THE MOUNTAIN ABOUT GOD!
When we say that we are going to do something and don’t do it, we are training our heart that we don’t mean what we say.

I’ll pray for you....and you never pray for them!
4 In whose eyes a vile person is despised,
But he honors those who fear the Lord;
He who swears to his own hurt and does not change;
Parable of the vineyard servants.
could the servants help themselves to the food and drink of the owners?
GOD HAS ALREADY GIVEN US EVERYTHING!
3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
prove - make known to your physical senses!
