Jesus is In!
the time and season
our Hope of Resurrection
our Wisdom
our meaning for life
Part of Wisdom Literature section of the the Bible
Psalms and Proverbs had their style; Ecclesiastes offers its own style - part prose - part poetry
Take a look at life
The Teacher (probably Solomon) draws a conclusion - our scripture reading today
Please stand as we honor the reading of God’s Word
Ecclesiastes 12:9–14 NIV
9 Not only was the Teacher wise, but he also imparted knowledge to the people. He pondered and searched out and set in order many proverbs. 10 The Teacher searched to find just the right words, and what he wrote was upright and true. 11 The words of the wise are like goads, their collected sayings like firmly embedded nails—given by one shepherd. 12 Be warned, my son, of anything in addition to them. Of making many books there is no end, and much study wearies the body. 13 Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind. 14 For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.
THE WORD OF GOD, FOR THE PEOPLE OF GOD

Meaningless!

Everything!
Much of the book deals upon this them
Wisdom, Folly, Pleasures, Toil, Advancement, Riches,
Find ourselves oppressed and friendless
Too many live at the extremes today.
Obsessed or Dejected
Ecclesiastes 12:12 NIV
12 Be warned, my son, of anything in addition to them. Of making many books there is no end, and much study wearies the body.
Our search for meaning can where us down if we try to search in too many places

A gift!

In spite of its seeming meaningless - life is a gift from God
Chapter 3 - Nothing new happening - a time for everything
Ecclesiastes 3:12–13 NIV
12 I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live. 13 That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil—this is the gift of God.
Life is a gift from God. How do we find such life? God’s words and His commandments.
Ecclesiastes 12:13 NIV
13 Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind.
We find our meaning if listening and following God
