*Joshua 24:1-15 (KJV) * \\ 15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

THE CHOICE IS YOURS

*INTRODUCTION:*  When we take a look at the world’s present state and condition it is clear that something is wrong.
Anytime a nation like the United States the super power of the world has to struggle to get its economy of out of bankruptcy I would say that there’s a problem.
And a 700 billion dollars bail-out package is not the answer.
This country is spiritually bankrupt and until the leaders of this nation turn their hearts back toward the Lord God things will continue to fall.
But, title of the message is  *The Choice Is Yours*.
*BACKROUND: *Joshua who God called to lead the Children of Israel after the death of Moses experienced great victory in battle leading the Children of Israel to the promise land.
God allowed the Children of Israel to win around 27 battles, conquering the Land that he swore to their fore father Abraham.
And by this time Joshua was now old and close to his death, so he gave the people a farewell speech to reminded them, that they were to keep on severing God after he was gone.
Joshua led the people through the land for many years and he knew that they would turn away and serve other gods.

*Closing*
From this exhortation of Joshua, we not only learn that the Israelites still retained some relics of idolatry, but to what gods they were attached.
1.
Those whom their fathers worshipped on the other side of the food, or the river Euphrates, i.e., the gods of the Chaldeans, fire, light, the sun, etc. 2. Those of the Egyptians, Apis, Anubis, serpents, vegetables, etc. 3.
Those of the Amorites, Moabites, Canaanites, etc., Baal-peor, Astarte, etc.
How astonishing is it, that after all that God had done for them, and all the miracles they had seen, there should still be found among them both idols and idolaters!
