Spooked?!?

Halloween is soon coming up! And churches are all confused as to just what to do about it! Some call it the “Devils Day” and they refuse to do anything at all some churches say giving out candy to children is okay so they have things like fall festivals, treats from the trunk and other things to try to bring children who normally don’t go to church, into the church. And some have scarecrows haunted houses I say that is going too far for me. But God says “Judge not that ye be not judged.”

There are 3 different Christians out there I want to tell you about. They all are facing Halloween and they all think in different ways.

1.              One who gives no thought to the power of Satan believing demons, witches, ghosts, goblins and the like are silly old stories from storybooks possessing no power.

2.              Another group who cares too much! These fear satanic powers are going to kill them always afraid of demonic powers, never able to get over that fear. He/She fears Satan not God

3.              Those who know that while Satan is powerful, he is SECOND in power to God. This one wears the FULL armor of God and uses that armor wisely!

1.  The one who gives no thought of Satan’s power need to remember something.

a.We are in a battle! And we cannot forget our enemy’s strength! We must not become lazy or weak we must stand strong!

Ephesians 6:10-13 (KJV)

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

2. The one who cares too much fearing Satan all the time needs to remember who the power truly is this one needs to put his/her fear and trust in God not Satan!

Colossians 1:13-18 (NASB95)

13 For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son,

14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.

16 For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities-all things have been created through Him and for Him.

17 He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.

18 He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything.

I am not saying not to be careful.

1 Peter 5:8-9KJV

8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

Be careful! Satan and his workers may look like wonderful, people, kind, sweet, giving, even knowledgeable in the bible, but in reality he is still what he is the devil.

2 Corinthians 11:13-15KJV

13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

Romans 8:38-39 (KJV)

38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
